The auto manufacturers need to rethink the auto stop. It should default to disabled upon starting the vehicle. If a driver wants the feature, then he should push the button to enable it.

I wonder if from all the 8 pins going to this connector none of the left 6 are a "switchable" hot wire. because the $100 eleminator seems to use only the 8pin connection. Maybe the hot wire came wired wrong in the Chinese eliminator.

sticking a piece of plastic in between the pushbutton and the button frame will and do the same thing, (since the button will always be depressed) as shorting the wires except you don't have to pull the dash apart.

@@chancey1979 I was just indicating that you don't have to disassemble your dash to get the same result. They do make a newer defeat (4d tech) that does not require a separate power cord but it is ~ $99.

@@clarkkent9080 yeah i've seen it. Here in Texas its hot year round. I just don't need it shutting off at all. I've seen that Eliminator and it isn't a bad choice either but with just a piece of wire laying around i don't have to deal with it at all. In fact, i jumped the connection, pulled out the switch all together and put in a 2022 Bezel. So i've completely deleted the switch. My dash looks like a 2022 which is the same as later years minus the A.S.S. switch

@@chancey1979 I just bought a 2024 and discussed it with the salesman that said using it would void the warranty. And he was a cool very young guy. It is hard to tell what big Nissan brother knows about your vehicle. They emailed me the address where mine is parked, the mileage, doors locked, etc. I like the idea of this new defeat system that is in line with the normal wiring and does not require a power feed. Some systems apparently draw some (very little) power. this system simply "remembers" the last switch position (on or off) and returns to that on startup. If something happens and I have to take it in for warranty work, I don't want to have to open the dash and remove anything. Since this system allows you to put the system back in service by simply depressing the button, I think it would be less likely for a mechanic to notice. The simplest way to bypass it is to shove a small piece of plastic in the switch to keep it depressed. Anyway, I hate this kinda crap.
@chancey1979
@chancey1979 Месяц назад
@@clarkkent9080 YES, they will look for ANY REASON to void your warranty - you better believe it. They're not your friend. They don't notice as much as you think they do though as i've had all my oil changes there but since i totally deleted the button and put a '22 Bezel in with no A.S.S. switch i wouldn't take it for anything but warranty work. If they can tell its been jumpered by some scanner voodoo they'll be able to tell you're running an eiliminator so i don't buy that for a second. Only way they'll see my truck again is for warranty work and that more than likely will never happen. In fact i was just at the Nissan Parts Counter talking to the parts guy. He told me about his '24 PRO-X - i asked if he like the A.S.S. Said he hates it. I directed him to the ClubFrontier link thats in the description on how to delete it. They'll never see my truck so who cares what they think they know. You do realize you there's several ways to turn it off and you're commenting on 1 single way and 1 single video i made among many. Link in description to CLubFrontier has several other ways. One way is by disconnecting the grey plug on your negative battery post. Takes all of 5 seconds and A.S.S. is disabled along with the VVCS which i doubt you know much about either. Club Frontier is your friend. You can learn a lot there

It disables the feature permanently. For $80-100 you may get an adapter that remembers the last state of the button. Then you will be able to use the button again, if you get stuck in a traffic jam.

Of course disables permanently - thats the point. Have yet to see anyone without the A.S.S. option asking how they can add it. - It's hated. My 2024 Hyundai doesn't even have it. Anyways, Already went Eliminator Route which can be bought on AMazon for $15 - even have a video on it. I've done it all and figured out all ways to disable it with the NIssan Service Manual - THOROUGHLY. Check the link to ClubFrontier for the link in the description. - Here's the link tho - AND theirs also a copy of the Nissan Wiring Diagrams from THe Nissan Service manual so download your copy for free. @@igoranisimov6549 I"ll give credit where it's due. At least the eliminator you posted doesn't have a power wire to power the chip like the $15 ones on AMazon. Regardless, the Jumper method takes the EXACT amount of time to install. Also, i've yet to find anywhere that someone is asking how to install the A.S.S. option on their non equiped vehicle. My 2024 Hyundai thankfully doesn't even have the option. IN the the description there's a link to my ClubFrontier thread. I've THROUGHLY gone over ALL ways - there are MULTIPLE WAYS to disable the feature with the Official Nissan Factory Manual. This is just one video from a thread with tons of info. Btw you must live somewhere cool bc here in Texas that A.S.S. feature is hot garbage. AC MUST stay on at all times. I'll just post the CF Link here. Also i have the NISSAN FACTORY WIRING SCHEMATICS/DIAGRAMS for all 3rd Gen Frontiers in the 1st Post. Feel free to download your own copy. It's not Chilton or Hayne's BS from Auto Parts Store - They're what the actual Nissan Techs use. My truck doesn't even have the switch anymore AT ALL. I did the jumper method (which i have a couple video's uploaded on how to do that -TAKES 5 MINUTES) and simply put in a 2022 Bezel and now the switch is gone. I go over all of it in the CF Thread. My new 2024 Hyundai Sonata doesn't even have the switch at all either and thank God bc Hyundai and Kia models that do - its electronic - no manual switch and cannot be turned off. Thats where the automotive game is going. Thankfully Nissan put an old school switch in that can be manipulated. www.clubfrontier.org/threads/auto-start-stop-a-s-s-deleted.387547/?post_id=4127389

That's probably the way i would have ended up going but wanted to make sure the Eliminator is the route i wanted to go. I wouldn't even suggest the Eliminator anymore but it does indeed work so i left it up. I don't like having a powered wire with this Eliminator. That A.S.S. switch IS ran through the Computer with a signal around 700 milliamps and don't want any voltage spikes and fry my computer as the Eliminator came with a 10 AMP Fuse! I put in a 1 AMP which is still way too much for something being ran through the ECU even though the fuse is just powering the memory chip on the Eliminator. Cheap Chinese Eliminators can fry, melt, burn, cause voltage spikes and send power where its not intended to go - NO THANKS - so i found some better options that are actually free and quick. CHECK OUT MY THREAD ON CLUB FRONTIER linked below - it has 55k Views as of now. Post #1 has all the info you need with hyper links to key parts of the thread, Videos, and Nissan OEM Manuals. There's several other ways to shut it off. Also i have the NISSAN FACTORY WIRING SCHEMATICS/DIAGRAMS for all 3rd Gen Frontiers in the 1st Post. Feel free to download your own copy. I did the jumper method (which i have a couple video's uploaded on how to do that and is by far the most popular method) and took it 1 more step further which is totally optional of course by simply putting in a 2022 Bezel and now the switch is gone. Jumper method just makes the connection between the 2 wires that are connected when you press the button - so no need to press that button anymore as its automatically on once you start the truck and power is sent - IT IS TOTALLY HARMLESS. I go over all of it in the CF Thread. My new 2024 Hyundai Sonata doesn't even have the switch at all either and thank God bc Hyundai and Kia models that do - its electronic - no manual switch and cannot be turned off. If you ran a wire from terminal 5 & 7 to a simple on/off switch wouldn't you have control the way it should have been from the factory to begin with?
@chancey1979
@chancey1979 4 месяца назад
Yeah, basically what you're talking about is what the Eliminator does. It Remembers your last selection - On or Off with a powered memory chip inside. If you added an On/Off Switch you'd just be manually setting it up to either be On or Off the next time you turn it on or even while you're driving but an On/Off switch allows you to turn Auto Start Stop ON if you wanted too. The 3 ways i go over are all just to disable it except for he Eliminator which i think is great and would just use the eliminator if the switch wasn't run through the ECU but then again i totally deleted the button, got a '22 bezel and don't have the switch at all anymore. Turns out all you have to do to disable A.S.S. is to jumper pins 5 and 7. The button is not required. So behind my dash is the A.S.S. harness with a jumper wire in it and button taken out with '22 bezel
