You only need this update if you are one of those people that uses public Wi-Fi a lot. The attacker needs physical access to the network. Which means they need to be connected to it. If someone gets access to your home Wi-Fi. You have different issues to worry about.
To be fair, this was running a massive project. For smaller projects it uses around 4 gb or less. Just wanted to show the extremes since some people's codebases grow to be that big
You should actually try flutter flow, it takes you 2 months probably to be really sufficient, and two weeks to wrap your head around, I think it can also be used for enterprise apps 🎉 yeah, bummer that it didn’t work out, interesting that Microsoft aren’t able to keep up with all the other frameworks, now they have rebranded Xamarin to Maui, what where most lacking in your opinion?
Thanks, since we had already the c# code we wanted to stay somewhat in the same lane, but we definitely want to try out flutter for new projects. It was just lacking support for many things, even their own applications such as intune had trouble distributing MAUI apps, so we just had to change frameworks because it was making us look bad.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. My app can read from the default resx file but it doesn't change the language when I change the browser language. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks
Great tutorial. Thanks! When you say share the URL with your users at the end, you could improve the user experience by creating a waffle (myapps) linked entry to the AWS logon URL.
Hi, I'm about to embark on learning Dotnet for frontend stuff, was curious why you switched from MAUI to avalonia? I'm starting to learn Maui cause it has good documentation and I'm new to dotnet, but people seem to like avalonia a lot more. Would you recommend I start with MAUI and get comfortable with dotnet/xaml stuff with good documentation, and then move to Avalonia, or just bite the bullet and start with Avalonia and bad documentation? thanks.
@@codingflamingoWe use WSL2 for our projects at my work. I managed to get it working by just opening in Rider with \\WSL$ path. Don’t use the remote connection it sucks. The problem is I’m trying to figure out how to debug docker compose containers
How is the development with Avalonia going ? I am ready for mobile now and need to choose between .NET and Flutter. Would you reccommend Avalonia over Flutter for a .NET dev ? Thanks!
I guess you could transform the part out and only included it in release mode or wrap it in a #if !DEBUG #endif clause so it's only active in release mode.
Maui is definitely not production ready for real world applications that may get more complex than the samples from Microsoft. I’ve been using it since it’s GA Release back 2022 and I’ve been reporting since that day multiple issues. I still got hope but it’s hard to believe this should be used in real world projects at this stage of the framework. I hope it won’t be your last video about Maui

Hi, thank you for sharing this coding example. I'm trying to adapt it to my project. Q. How can I test it in a different language, specifically Spanish? (You are referring to that, but not showing how.) I already changed the language on the browser to Spanish, but it is only showing the value of the variable in the default language (English). It's actually taking the value from the variable, because I added it to a page, and it's working, but not in a different language. Please advise. Thank you a lot.
I've encountered challenges with MAUI, and despite its ten years of development since acquisition, I've found it to be less stable than expected. While I appreciate the efforts, it seems there are issues that need attention. It's crucial for the community to openly discuss these challenges and provide constructive feedback. This can help the MAUI team address concerns and work towards making it a more robust framework for .NET developers. Sharing our experiences will contribute to a better understanding of the current state of MAUI and foster improvements over time.
I have a doubt in .NET MAUI. I am creating a point-of-sale (POS) application in .NET MAUI for a Windows platform. I am using an entry field and a search bar in my application, and it needs to be in full-screen mode. I have converted the program into an executable (exe) file and ran it on a POS machine (Essae Machine). However, when I touch the entry field, the soft keyboard does not pop up. Interestingly, the soft keyboard works in Google Chrome and AnyDesk on the same POS machine. Can you help me understand why the soft keyboard is not popping up in my application?
I believe soft keyboards were not supported on Windows until .NET 8 I would recommend updating to dotnet 8 and trying, I believe that in the .net conf Maui session the talk about this new feature
Nice vid, interestingly I’ve viewed MAUI as more for the mobile side of things, just because it can build windows or Mac apps it seems counter-intuitive when most people building a windows app generally would have windows devs and vice versa for Mac - more for legacy sense I assume, but if I today wanted to build say a Mac app I would likely be looking at Swift, it’s like MAUI is a great way to bootstrap that per se, but once you have to truly integrate with the OS and have versioning associated to Apple release cycles and not MAUIs wouldn’t you by then (a) have enough justifiable interest in your product to make a dedicated app for that OS as well as (I assume) by then know what platforms your users are actively using to know where to invest that time? Also iirc Apple can natively run iOS apps so maybe their view is that you could just release for that for that Apple people out there?
I understand that how you see it is how most people see it, an evolution of xamarin for Mobile with the added advantage of being able to do some desktop development. But Microsoft is pushing it as the ultimate platform for all devices, which is far from it.
Please guys be aware of problem when pairing to mac in version of visual studio 17.4 / 5. I had to download VS 17.8 Preview in order to pair with MAC. Hopefully it will help to some one.
