My husband & I are native SoCALers & we've been blessed to live in North, Coastal San Diego most of our adult lives... we're spoiled because our community is very conservative, & at the beach, the weather is PERFECT! NEVER hot or cold. We own our own businesses so due to circumstances, we have to move out of state quickly- so it's Nashville or Myrtle Beach... this is helping our decision! THANKS!

I just moved 45 mins north of Nashville. After 30yrs had to get out Davidson co. and more into the country. I avoid nashville at all costs. Its just not the same and its way to crowded. To many people moved here.
I have lived in old hickory 12 miles north east of nashville all my life. The only reason i am still here is my second wife doesnt want to leave. I am 77 years old. In the ladt 12 years this place has at least doubled in people. They havent fixed the structer at all so its like living in New York city. For 30 years i traveled for job. Being a silver and gold smith making jewelry doing shows all over the us of a. You cant go out now without getting shot at i carry a gun even to church.
Yes I do! Not as many from outside of the US are moving here than from other parts of the country but yes I do. Actually, a Korean professor closes on her home here with me on 2 weeks! Where are you currently?
Don't move to Nashville if you think you're going to increase your salary - wages DO NOT match the cost of living. Nashville is VERY expensive. I would suggest before moving to Nashville and you want to purchase your "to impress" home - think about who is going to be able to buy it in 5 years (or less) when you want to go back to your previous state of residence. We are suffering from the Big Fish - Little Pond syndrome and until people are forced to move back for work its going to be unkind to local Tennesseans.

I have traveled the entire state of TN in the past year or so and talked with countless locals. They all say welcome to those moving to TN…… UNLESS…… Unless you plan on bringing your evil bullshit politics with you. One man from East Tn said “If you think you’re coming to my town and voting Democrat, you will not be tolerated” I would be very afraid of those people from Tennessee because they like everything they have, including their guns. And they intend on keeping it.
blue state refugees who move here and still vote blue are a danger to liberty and I wish they'd stay in their blue state. They crapped in their own nest; now they're moving here so they can crap in ours. I'm OK with blue state refugees who vote conservative. They need somewhere to run to. But the liberal ones are a threat.
Nashville only represents itself & close proximity neighborhoods. The majority of Tennessee is great; especially in comparison w/other states. I saw a comment that said Nashville was rude. That's because in the city, there are very few Tennesseans. Most are transplants, from places where rudeness is common.
That distresses me to hear! I wonder what area you visited? If downtown at al the honkytonk lower Broadway areas, maybe all tourists- because they are. Sadly though maybe we are getting many transplants who come FROM rude places and bring bad traits with them. Could be true.
Just watch your step whenever in Nashville you just might get robbed or shot in road rage, used to be better but now with all the gang activities going on that's the problem, have to travel there for doctors appointments hate to have to go through the city anymore, just don't feel safe anymore
