Jeez, it's been a LONG time since I played this and know most of these cheats by heart. Here's a tidbit : Using the health cheat code at 0 HP won't do anything. However, if you're hit in the air (when it hits 0) and enter it, it will work. (I remember this specifically because of Onikage's jumping leg scissor attack -_-) And here's a random bug not a lot of people know about. If you do a launching attack on an enemy from behind (crouching attack), and they land on the surface, but FLIP into a bottomless pit, they will be dead but have a HUGE pool of blood underneath them. This is hard to do unless you use items like poison rice balls. You can also drown Onikage in the final stage instead of fighting him. It's incredibly easy to do, just keep him on the screen at all times as you backtrack. ....Speaking of which, Onikage's theme is badass and iconic. It really is a shame they didn't put it in Wrath of Heaven.

im playing on the ePSXe with the European version and a ps4 controller mapped. But i noticed when i crouch and roll that the camera will flip and the charcter looks the other way! can you not roll forwards?
You use the directional buttons to roll. Press a direction twice, and you'll roll in that direction. Pressing X while crouched does a 180 roll. It's better than just turning if you want to quickly face the other direction to run away, for example.
@@monsiplays So D-PAD twice to roll forward got it! I hope i improve at this game it is hardcore on normal! i can never be stealth! Can you really not target an enemy its like turning to face them is very awkward!
@@Maltebyte2 Movement in Tenchu would not improve until Tenchu 3 and games that released after it. Those games also have a proper lock-on system. before that, Tenchu had tank controls which weren't the best as you may already know.

really sucks trying to fight onikage at the top of the castle because you barely have any room to move manuever, plus it does not help that ayame barely does damage to him and when i use ayame i use as many grenandes as possible end the fight quickly.

i so agree with you. it was such a dumb idea for Aquire to not add music in this game. They only added music when going in boss fights and of course you hear a tune when the enemies are alerted.

i agree with you when it comes to dragging enemy bodies. At least the metal gear solid series kept it consisnet after metal gear solid 2 when it comes to moving enemy bodies.
Yup i remember after replaying this game after such a long time is to make sure to take out your weapon first before taking on the boss of every level.
The enemies in this level are annoying cause out of nowhere they can see you. Plus fighting them one on one is pretty hard since they are basically ninjas like you.
It's definitely more fun with friends. If they did bring multiplayer to a new Tenchu game, I would love it if they only improved on what was shown in Tenchu Z. maybe bring back co-op kills like in Tenchu 3 or something.
Oh my god your so right, i hate that this game you have to find the items to add them to your collection. Also Tenchu 1 did it better in terms of getting the grand master rank. You can go an entire level without stealth killing enemies and you still get the grandmaster rank. Tenchu 2 made it harder and you have to stealth kill enemies for grandmaster and the levels BECOME MUCH HARDER to not get spotted.
Yeah, it kind of makes getting Grandmaster a pointless effort because it doesn't reward the player with anything but a title, no new items. If they didn't change that and the requirement for stealth kills for Grandmaster, I would confidently say that Tenchu 2 surpasses Tenchu 1 in every aspect, but of course, it doesn't. At least the AI can't randomly see you through walls, see bodies through walls, or just get alerted for no reason.
@monsiplays yup and they did away with not letting enemies joining boss fights like in tenchu 1 cause yes that will ruin your grandmaster rank run if you did not stealth kill enough enemies.

as far as stories go, Tenchu 2, for me, has the strongest narrative, as far as gameplay goes, its either Wrath of Heaven or Fatal Shadows. I realize they both use the same engine but there are a few things that one does better than the other so I can't really say which one I like more.

Yes, you do need to input the cheat fairly fast in order for them to register. I probably should've said that in the video, but of course, I'm a forgetful buffoon.

Yeah, I once thought that, too. Don't get me wrong; as far as a TENCHU game is concerned, this is subpar. But now, I don't hate it, but I also don't love it. Tenchu 4 is like the middle child desperately trying to impress their parents but failing to live up to those expectations.

Yo, a Tenchu reboot with a combat system like Sekiro would be PERFECTION. One area that Tenchu always struggled with was combat. Some people will argue, "Oh, the combat is supposed to be jank, that's why you hide," but I feel that if Tenchu had a really good combat system, at least the boss fights would be even more epic.
Amazing how really graphic violence is acceptable now, as society crumbles, yet the CLOWNS in charge saw fit to censor these badly pixelated graphics back then. Im gonna resist the urge to vent politically.
I think its also a matter of the times. these graphics were considered amazing back then and plus 3d games were also still relatively young. it looks like crap now because of hindsight. who knows maybe in 40 years, the graphics we got now will look like crap to people then. but yeah, i share your outrage, not saying it still doesn't happen today.
