Travelling any way we can (although Donna doesn't like flying so maybe that's an exception!) by campervan, inter-rail or ship. Making the most of what we can while we can.
Steve sorry might have been a bit harsh with you I watch many blogs of all the cruises find them great to watch I loved the bit on the horses and the hearing the captains voices I am fully aware you not a professional But it's very important to let people know the ports you are visiting and a bit of even coverage of them I have saved your blog best of luck in the future got a good feeling I passed by you both on the ship.regards hugh
Was on the same cruise as you got to be honest not the best of blogs too much of a miss mash some ports no footage at all only my.oppion you did your best
Really enjoyed your blog. Seefeld l went for about 5 years with my parents when l was aged 11. I’m 56 now and l must go back there. Beautiful place but never been in the winter. It brought back many good childhood memories. Really enjoyed walking out of the town to the lake.
You can’t walk from the ship and have to use the bus arranged by the ship (so you have to buy their package). I had a lovely sunny day so the walk was enjoyable. I’m quite fit so didn’t find the walk very arduous but it is uphill all the way with quite a lot of rocks arranged like stairs.
Hi, many thanks. I’m not sure about buggies but I’m pretty sure there would be something available. The best bet is to ask the cruise line before you book.
Hi Ian, it should sail at 6pm but we were about an hour and half late sailing. You will receive your boarding time about 2-3 weeks before the cruise starts. If you arrive early they have a queuing system outside the terminal. Enjoy the cruise 🙂
A very good video of the ship. Me and the wife went on the Iona last year to the fjords and due to sail on her again in two weeks. I’ll be taking my insta 360 camera with my invisible selfie stick and my 3m selfie stick for some cracking shots.
looks awesome - i’m sold!! Excellent video - well put together - i know first hand how long it can take and the effort put in - marvelous! love Donna’s enthusiasm. x
Thanks Mick, a real headache with the edit this time as it kept freezing or loosing links to the video (Power Director 360 on a Mac). It was an awesome place to visit and we want to go back but next on the list is touring Europe. Hope all’s well with you all.
Beautiful ship we go on Saturday...Much prefer just English not announcements in different languages....So looking forward to being back in Norway...Normally do 14 day but wanted to do Iona...
@@steveanddonnawalker223 Would absolutely recommend road if you're comfortable driving on the right hand side, that way you can stop wherever you want. The railways in Norway aren't that extensive and the only really beautiful one is Oslo-bergen. Greetings from Norway
@@peacefulminimalist2028, thank you very much for the tip. We tour all the time in other parts of Europe so the other side of the road is never an issue. Best wishes.
A wonderful video, skilfully edited, nice soundtrack with the on board exploration of the ship segment of the video. But WOW!....the pulpit rock section is beautifully filmed. Stunning views, and those occasional near the edge images looking down gave us moments of 😯😬😆 Brilliant guys, well done 👍
Those are some really nice comments, especially as the editing was a real headache as it kept crashing and freezing so it took forever 😠 so any tips on video editing software are very welcome. Pulpit Rock was amazing but even better as the weather was excellent on that day.
@Steve and Donna Walker on the editing, we use the clipchamp app for Windows 11 on a desktop PC 🖥 for our video editing. The Fotor windows app is good for tidying up still images. Sharpen, brighten etc and for creating thumbnails for youtube using their collage creating feature. Don't know if any of that helps.
Love Iona, she’s a beautiful ship! We keep threatening to do the hike up to pulpit rock, but suspect we’re more likely to see it via the boat trip too 😅
I have my first cruise from January the 29th till February the 5th.i have so much feelings. I'm happy, nervous, a little bit scary. MSC Virtuosa we're coming.
Really enjoyed sharing this first cruise with you guys through your video. This should be the first of many cruises hopefully, and the first of many vlogs we see from you cos you 2 are naturals at this and really entertaining to watch 👍
Thank you for a great view of the ship you looked like you had lots of fun. We were thinking of doing MSC in April but heard so many negatives I wasn’t sure whether to book or not
Thanks for the feedback. Not sure what negatives you have heard. The crew really can't do enough for you. If it was about the food, obviously you can't expect top restaurant quality but we found it nice enough in the main restaurants and ok in the Market Buffet. We picked MSC because gratuities are included in the price and they have a good drinks package which is well worth doing.
