Hi, I have created a apigateway project which acts like my own apigateway, I have multiple services which are running already in my ECS so now I want to call my other services through my apigateway service, in this scenario how service connect will help me? Also have subscribed to your channel.. 😇
Hi, haha thanks… May I knkw Why do you want apigateway on the top of your ecs services? Aren’t your services APIs? Apigateway is best for Lambda or other nano services.
Well explained, thanks. I was thinking it was possible to use env file instead? As I have multiple node.js env, and it is a bit strange to have a long command line with all variable like this, Also stupid question maybe, but why those variables are not set within the build stage of the image?
Nice one but that does not answer the problem here: repost.aws/questions/QUczl6EqoRRemvw4b6KL_kDw/ecs-service-connect-could-not-resolve-host AWS ECS messes up regarding the way the service connection works when using terraform for example as explained in the link above.
Thank you very much for the video. I was just about to contact the CEO of Grafana and Prometheus to address my bugs. I really liked using OpenTelemetry and Jaeger.
Thanks! Such subscribers and comments motivate me to upload good, short and helpful content. I am working on weekend day and night, soon will be having more series! Cheers mate!
Hi @@prograamer, when I create clusters by using terraform will the namespace be created with same name as that of cluster. Or should I create namespace so the service can communicate
@calebjoshuacj6883 yes correct, at the time of creating an ECS cluster, if a namespace is not specified then ECS itself creates its own namespace same as ecs cluster name. It can be viewed in cloudmap
Hi @prograamer , i have used one nginx ECS service and two backend service behind nginx service using reverse proxy . And my ALB point to my nginx service. how we enable service connect to communicate with both backend service
Thank you, this was a very good playlist. The best part is that the videos are short, always to the point, practical. No BS. Expecting more such AWS videos from you...!!
Thanks! It really motivates me to upload more. Yeah, I have been working on some more short and practical series with roadmaps. Sooner those will be updated!
Thank you for this. I struggled a lot with other solutions which were not working but this was simple, short and most importantly, a working solution!!!
Very nice explanation. But code always Containerised & this code is not working in AWS ECS service. It's shown "connection time out". I have provided access key & secret key by hardcoaded . Also giving all SES, SNS & IAM fullAccess permissions in IAM role. Still not working. Kindly request you to show for send Email by java code in Containerised case. It will help me as well as many developers. Because any how code is deployed on cloud in industrial work. Your support & guidance will be highly appreciated all the time.
Great info! I work in operations with occassional coding and at the moment using dual 32" monitors. I am contemplating on a similar setup as yours with a 49" monitor but my productivity workflow is to have only 3 primary apps: browser left for specific apps, vscode/terminal on the center where I spend most of my time in, and another browser on the right for dashboard/apdex monitoring. The laptop would serve as my keyboard, screen-sharing screen, and quick small notes/tasks. However, I'm also thinking of adding an LG dual-up monitor to the side of the 49" where I can have teams/messaging on the top-half of the monitor since i work at home and constantly communicating with colleagues throughout the day. The bottom-half of the dual-up is where I plan to have my obsidian notes where i can have multiple tabs open for various notes. Do you think adding a supplemental monitor to one side of a 49" would require too much head movement? I can't seem to decide between a 40" and 49" to pair with a dual-up. "My Dream Desk Setup Tour 2023 | Enhancing Productivity" by Peter Georgiou channel has this setup but he recently switched his 49" to 40".
Thank you I have successfully installed docker in AWS linux as taught by you. My simple Java spring boot app is on GitHub. Now,I wanted to deploy my simple api app with MySQL and containerize it in a Docker in a Linux machine. Can you tell me the steps.
Hello. good video I am thinking of buying the same monitor for work. And I want to ask if there is any discomfort in the neck? When looking at different angles of the monitor. Because some people tell me that the monitor is not curved enough
Thanks a lot for this you saved me like 2 days of research on how to reach port 3000... Instead of turning the firewall offw can i just add a rule in the firewall to grant access to the 3000 port ?
Correct, just configure 3000 port in the firewall to access the server publicly. That's the best practices! Do subscribe if you think that really helped!
Y@@prograamer I did :) welle it turned out that it doesn't work for me. I installed a MEAN app on my EC2, I installed IIS for the front part (angular) and it's running ok. On my server localhost, my app is fully functional, but when I try to access it from my computer , the front is correctly loading but the 3000 port give me a timeout. Any idea why ? (I modified the inbound and outbound rules in my security group to add the 3000 port and totally deactivate the firewall...)
Great! Try checking inbound rule of your EC2 instance and make sure to… Choose 'Add rule'. For 'Type', choose 'Custom TCP'. For 'Protocol', enter 'tcp'. For 'Port range', enter '3000'. For 'Source', choose 'Anywhere' or specify your local machine's IP address. Choose 'Save rules'
