Personally, I think "Yacht Club" on MSC is overrated even before I saw your video of your experience. Some fellow cruisers who did yacht club inside cabin on MSC Seashore when I sailed on the same ship (I booked the Aurea Balcony Suite w/Hot tub) paid WAY more than I did! I paid $1700 for the 4-night cruise. My cabin had a walk-in closet and bathtub and 300 sq ft of space (I did a video on my channel of it). Their Yacht club cabin was just like the one you showed! MSC dining room food is a work in progress for sure (My last RCCL cruise the MDR food was not very good either)! The specialty dining package is so inexpensive on MSC compared to other cruise lines it is the better choice in my humble pirate opinion. I haven't done a Celebrity cruise yet but will in a year or two. I have another Rum to review! Cheers!
The rooms with hot tubs look amazing! I think we will try one in the future. I agree with you about the specialty dining, I think that’s our plan for World America, to book a nice balcony room and the specialty dining package, plus it’s half the price of YC!
This was a great comparison. Thank you for sharing . Hubby and I are loyal to Royal but we are ready to try other cruise lines. For our 14 year anniversary, we want to try another cruise line and our eyes have been on VV or Celebrity because we have heard great things about both cruise lines, and this video just put the icing on the cake to help us decide. Thanks again !!!
That’s awesome! We also really enjoy Royal Caribbean, but we have really liked trying other cruise lines too! Especially the more luxurious ones like Celebrity and VV, you can’t go wrong!
Enjoyed the video. We did the Aurea Suite w balcony hot tub on MSC Seashore back in December 2023. We peeked into the Yacht club area from the Aurea Bar and Sundeck on deck 19. The Seashore is one of the most beautiful cruise ships this Pirate has sailed on! The price point of Yacht Club inside cabin was more than I wanted to spend, and I wanted a huge suite balcony instead. I gave the cabin steward $40 when I met him on day 1. We had Butler service almost after that! 😂 This Pirate is sailing again on MSC Seashore this November. The ship is so huge I didn't get to do and see everything the 1st time around.
It really helps to watch because then you know what to look for when you use a service like yacht club, and can really get your moneys worth, instead of learning about what you missed later on.
Great video… Enjoyed it a lot… Wondering if you could compare Yacht Club to celebrity retreat which I think would be a fair comparison… We have never been in the retreat but we have been in Yacht Club
Enjoyed this video very very much… Were you in the Yacht Club on this specific sailing? If so was wondering why you went to the buffet in the main experience of the ship every day??? we have experienced both the main area of the seashore and stayed in an ocean view cabin and also we stayed in the yacht club in an interior cabin… We enjoyed both experiences very much except the shower in the interior Yacht Club on the seashore I felt was very tight but did not feel it was as tight in the main area of the ship in an Ocean view room… Crazy I'm sure but that's how I felt… Totally agree with you about every single thing you said about the seashore ...loved Hola Cantina restaurant… review... thanks and looking forward to your next review 🚢 we will be going on the seashore in the Yacht Club but this time in balcony in September 2024
We did the YC dining room one morning and it took forever! Over an hour for just a simple breakfast, so after that we opted for ether the YC buffet or the Market Place for breakfast since it was much quicker. We love a nice relaxing experience for dinner but for breakfast we like something quick so we can get on with our day.
@@Cruisenewsandbooze that makes good sense… I guess because we are older than you are we don't mind the longer wait… lol… But when we sale on MSC in the regular experience we choose not to go to the dining room and always go to the buffet just because we like it better… I love being able to choose🚢
@@Cruisenewsandbooze totally makes sense… Being a lot older than you we don't mind a long wait in the Yacht Club… But when traveling on MSC in the main area we enjoy the buffet better than the main dining room🚢
Your comment about the Cafe Promenade was surprising. On the Symphony there was a line separating the paid and free items as well as a designated pickup section, and the Symphony is an older ship. strange.
We have also been on Symphony and agree that it was a much different experience the lines were clearly marked and it never felt overly crowded. Not sure what happened on Wonder to make it so different.
Great videos but the price should have been compared to Seashores base price.I do understand that the base price for celebrity beats the seashore yacht club.
We can only go off of the prices we personally paid for the experience we had, the main objective of the video was to compare how MSCs high end experience compared to Celebrity’s base experience and which one was better for us personally. Of course MSC has really great prices on the base cruises but since we didn’t have that experience on this cruise we really couldn’t speak to the price of it and how it compares.
I understand that there is no guys burger or a cafe promenade or a park cafe but this is Celebrity. Celebrity isn’t known for those types of food places. There’s still almost always something in the buffet, mast grill is there, and the spa juice bar for healthy snacks. If you need more than that maybe Celebrity isn’t the cruise line for you.
I went solo on the Beyond in April, and Captain Kate, like Captain Leo, stood at the gangway along with our cruise director saying goodbye to everyone. The bartenders at the Martini Bar were so friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to sail.Beyond again
Great drink choices - also like the Old Fashioned from Craft Social - FYI my wife and I are sitting at the Martini Bar in your opening, white shirt and my wife is videoing the bartenders
We take about 3 Celebrity Cruises a year. I would like to see you review the Celebrity Retreat. I enjoyed your Celebrity vs MSC video. We just finished a transatlantic and Norway cruise with Celebrity and stayed in the Retreat and it was amazing.
Hi guys, ..... QUESTION: Was the "Yacht Club" worth it, i.e., did you truly get the Service, Food, and extra care that you PAID FOR?? QUESTION²: Would you do it again?? QUESTION³: Did you pay the original high price or did you initially pay for a lower Cabin and then "BID"?? Thanks in advance. 😎⛹️♀️🤸♂️🚴♂️
Great questions! First off the service such as the bar staff, butler and JR butler, concierge was exceptional! The YC dinning room staff was pretty hit or miss, we had some not so good and one really amazing waiter. The food was good nothing mind blowing though, you could get filet mignon every night which was great but Breakfast in YC dinning room was disappointing so we only did that once. I would do it again if it was the right price since you get the drinks included, the Top Sail Lounge as well as the private pool area was exceptional plus the priority elevator access was AMAZING! We just paid the original price since it was already a really good price ($3,000 for both of us) but I think the upgrade option is great! Hope this helps!
In your particular case, I think you're right. But you had the "unicorn" with Celebrity in that you caught a good price. If you don't care about itinerary, you can catch a deal on Celebrity. Otherwise, their pricing has become nothing short of egotistical. Don't get me wrong...they have a great product. But it's not worth what they normally charge for it. You also have to consider that in Yacht Club you have free access to areas of the spa, your wristband gives you elevator priority, and probably most importantly, you have an area of the ship exclusively for Yacht Club. On Seashore it's all-encompassing; you don't have to go out into the regular areas of the ship and battle the crowds if you don't want to. Your comparison was interesting and did a great job, and I agree with your finding, but only in this particular case. It was the (rare) pricing advantage Celebrity had this time that gave it the win. I think if you had found pricing more typical to Celebrity it would have been much closer.
I think you could be right about that! I definitely haven’t found such a good price on a celebrity cruise since then. The Yacht Club wrist band and elevator access was some of our favorite parts, and like you said being able to get away from the crowds was amazing! I think Yacht Club is a great experience and we will probably do it again, as well as another Celebrity cruise so it will be interesting to compare again! Thanks for your comment!
Good video. However, why did you compare a Premium cruise brand (Beyond) to a maim stream brand(Seashore). Although I have not sailed on either yet. IMO Beyond was already 2 steps ahead of the Seashore. Just curious.
We wanted to compare Seashores premium yacht club experience to Beyond’s basic experience. Of course comparing the basic Seashore to Beyond wouldn’t be fair, the Yacht Club is supposed to be much higher end luxurious amenities that cost quite a bit more than the regular MSC experience.
So very interesting to hear your comments and opinions about both ships… We have been on the beyond as well as interior MSC yacht club… We just went on the beyond in April 2025 and on the seashore yacht club interior in January 2025… I liked the beyond but did not love it… Totally agree with you about cabins in the yacht club being very small and did not feel luxurious at all… I totally loved the interior beyond cabin as well as the beautiful bathroom… MSC fell very short on the interior cabins for the price of the cruise... the bar service in the Top Sail lounge and other bars outside of the yacht club were superior to beyond in our opinion... we did not care for the loud martini bar noise on the beyond which seemed to permeate multiple decks of the ship… We really enjoy the celebrity solstice class ships much more and enjoy the martini bar much better in the location that they are on solstice class ships… We also thought the food in the yacht club dining room was far superior to the food in the main dining rooms of the beyond… We did not go to the common buffet on the seashore on this specific time because we were in yacht club and found the outdoor buffet and the main dining room for lunch delicious however the buffet on the beyond was probably the best buffet we have ever been at as well for lunch and breakfast… did you happen to go to the seafood buffet at the end of the yacht club cruise… It was amazing… And I know that the beyond had an amazing shrimp buffet as well at the end of the cruise… as far as entertainment we loved both ships so we can't really compare very much to that… We were surprised that the entertainment on the seashore was as good as it was and yes the entertainment on the beyond was awesome as well… It's so good we can all have our own opinions… I'm not saying I would never go on beyond again because of course we would…… we do have another seashore yacht club booked but this time in a balcony cabin… I do enjoy listening to you and your videos… Thanks for all you do🚢
Thank you for your comment! I also really enjoy hearing about other people’s experiences on the same ship because I think it can vary so much depending on the staff, circumstances etc. We did go to the sea food buffet in Yacht club and it was our favorite meal on the ship, I wish all the food was that good. As far as the Yacht club dining room goes I had read a lot of reviews before we got on the ship saying the food was way over seasoned, it seemed on our sailing they went to the other extreme and barely seasoned the food at all, we usually love MSCs food (especially Caleb) so it seemed to me that it was probably not the norm from them. It also didn’t help that the first 3 nights it took forever to get the food and even then it was cold, so we want to give it another try in the future and see if we have a better experience . As you said the room on MSC was very disappointing, the size of the bathroom was so small especially considering they call it a “suite” I would be interested to know if the balcony suites have larger bathrooms, so please update us when you get back from that cruise! I think both ships are great in different ways and I would definitely go on ether one again who knows we could go back on Beyond and have a bad experience 😆.
@@Cruisenewsandbooze you are so very right… It all depends on so many things each cruise even on the same exact ship… The balcony bathrooms in the yacht club are absolutely incredible… We were on the MSC seaside in a yacht club balcony and I was in disbelief of how beautiful a bathroom could be… I will keep you posted… It's all good… Every cruise line every ship every experience can change from one week to another… Crazy isn't it?
Awesome Video and Very informative. My Wife and I were on the Wonder of the Seas last year in May and we had a Blast. But this year we are shifting gears and Boarding the Celebrity Beyond for the first time for Our Anniversary. We are just Counting the days. Very excited. 😊
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the video, we have done a lot of cruises on the Oasis class including Wonder and although we really enjoyed them, we found that the Beyond beat all our expectations, the blend of fun and sophistication was just perfect in our opinions, plus the drinks were excellent 😃I hope you have a great time on your cruise!
I wasn’t even born yet in 1993 😆. I think since we have experienced the process we have a much better idea of what to expect with Yacht Club embarkation process, and it does seem that the experience can vary greatly, another passenger on our cruise told us that they were on the ship within 8 minutes while it took us about 35-40 minutes so we could have just arrived at a bad time. Thank you so much for all your support and for subscribing we really appreciate it! Comments like yours make all the work worth it!
@@Cruisenewsandbooze I giggled when I read you weren't even born in 1993… But I knew that by just looking at the both of you… It's fun for us to listen to your videos and your opinions because you are so much younger than us and like to hear opinions from newer cruisers… our very first cruise was on the original Carnival celebration in 1993 like I have said before… That ship got us hooked… And the changes has been phenomenal can't imagine what it was like cruising even before 1993… Anyway thanks again for all you do!!
You can’t film going thru security at the airport…..what made you think you can do it at a cruise port? Love MSC YC we have did over 8 of them in less than 2 yrs. It isn’t MSC fault on how their passengers are handle thru security
We actually weren’t filming, the camera wasn’t even on it was just out of the bag as we hadn’t had a chance to put it away yet. I’ve also done a lot of MSC cruises (diamond status) and have never had any problem until this experience.
I was on a 5 day in May. I absolutely hated my Beyond cruise. The buffet was the same food every day. The service was ok. Someone left their room service tray in front of my cabin door all day every day. The ship was nice. I went to Cyprus first night and the food was disgusting. Went to Normandie and it was a good meal. I’ve been on 10 Celebrity cruises and Beyond was the worst. I gave it a grade of D -.
Just back from the Beyond a couple weeks ago…Lavender Lemon Drop was my husband’s go to the entire cruise (and for him too the first drink he tried when we boarded)! For me: two martinis up on the menu - the lychee martini with Grey Goose instead of Ketel One (nice to have the premium package). Delicious! That Beyond Signature was great too.
I wanted to try the lychee martini but I got stuck on the lavender lemon drop and didn’t get to, I definitely will try that one next time! I always love to hear from other people that enjoyed the martini bar because I thought it was so wonderful!
This is the experience that Ben and David of Cruise with Ben and David had with MSC Yacht Club as well when they tried to film. They left the cruise. MSC is said to have reached out to them and apologized and is supposed to working with them regarding policies around filming. I guess that hasn't made it to the security personal here in America yet.
I guess not, the craziest part is we weren’t even filming the camera was completely turned off we just hadn’t gotten a chance to put it back in the bags yet. It was bizarre we’ve never experienced anything like that from cruise security before.
We did get an upgrade offer however it was an additional $3,000 per person and we didn’t feel like it was worth that since we were already in Yacht Club.
With the drink package did you have to pay taxes while the cruise was in port in Florida? They did that to us when we left out of NYC so curious if Florida is the same. The drink itself was included with the drink package but the state made the passenger pay the tax on it.
A little late for a response but playmakers was my go to. Now I will say I tipped the bartender well just because I knew I would frequent there from day one. With that being said, me and my friends would just walk up to the outside tables, and I kid you not, by the time sat, the bar tender would have one of the waitresses bringing our usual drinks out to us. We never had to wait for anything, or order, he saw us getting low, he’d send another order to us. I’ve still yet to get a spot on the rising tide, so I’m with you on that one. 🍻
I’m convinced it was the one particular waitress we happened to get because the rest were very friendly, they were also confused where she kept running off to haha. Your right though good bartender can make all the difference!
Celebrity is an even better value if you bundle the drink package and wifi when booking. Yes absolutely you can get a Celebrity cruise in the Caribbean for about half the price of Royal Caribbean.
We were actually surprised by the age demographic on this cruise I would say on our particular sailing 30s- 50s was the average but a very fun group/vibe all the way around. I’m in my 20s and I felt very comfortable and had a great time it was definitely younger crowd than some other cruises I’ve been on.
Thank you for your opinion as I didn't purchase a drink package but did want to try the pistachio latte and the lavender martini. Now I know where to focus my drink purchases on thanks to this and your drink video.
Enjoy your cruise! We sailed on MSC Seashore last December on a 4 nighter and I had purchased the 3-specialty restaurant dining package so we never ended up eating in the main dining room. I think we did the buffet the final night. The ship is probably one of the most beautiful ships we have sailed on! The ship has 2 atriums. One is themed after Time Square and the sky above it changes based on the time of day. The ship is longer than a US Navy Nimitz class aircraft carrier, so the ship is long and is 20 decks tall. It has elevators like the Icon of the Seas too. The biggest surprise is the ship uses gyroscope stabilization so the seas could be 6-7 foot however the ship stays complete flat on the ocean! We had an Aurea suite with a hot tub on the balcony (there is a video on my RU-vid channel) that was fantastic! Looking forward to your review!
The Celebrity Beyond was so amazing! We went last month (we are elder Millennials who don’t like kids), and loved every aspect of it-our cabin, the food, the cocktails, etc (we’re NCL loyalists, but Celebrity set the bar really, really high). My husband said “this feels like such a happy ship”.
