I don't mind 12-part stories but I wish Big Finish would schedule the two constituent boxsets on consecutive months. I can't listen to the second part without having to relisten to the first part because the six month gap leaves too much time to forget the events of first part.
I can give you an Example of that - yes of a BBC TV series, which was created by Terry Nation in the mid 1970s - called Survivors. There were lots of scraps between Nation, the Producer, it's directors & some of the cast - but despite all that, they created something pretty wonderful. Try it & see - it's all on DVD the fact all the episodes survived, was a miracle itself - as in those days, the 2 inch videotape was very expensive & often re-used.
Hugh Grant was almost cast as the Ninth perhaps Hugh should recast as the Ninth Doctor instead of Chris focusing on Big Finish Audio adventures for himself though didn't appear on 50th Anniversary movie but never on 60th Anniversary specials so one day Hugh the Ninth shall appear as second and final appearance on the screen. Will be the same fate as the late Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor for the 20th Anniversary who replaced the late William Hartnell.

It justb occured to me how much the voice of an older Colin Baker is so wonderful to the ears. It gives his incarnation, which is one I love, added character and charm.
Colin was my first classic Doctor when I started watching Doctor Who (I was watching the NEW WHO first before I saw the classics) So it's great that the lovely people at Big Finish and co are honouring 40 years since Colin's first adventure as the Sixth Doctor
This boxset were the first ever Big Finish audio I’ve ever listened to and it was INCREDIBLE! Rejoice is so awesome and John Hurt was a TREASURE! Such a shame that he is no longer with us (but Jonathon Carley is a treasure as well :) )
How much I wish we had got more of Colin's sixth incarnation on tv and in his more fully realised and so passionate Big Finish vibe. I know that was the intention of JNT and co. but with all the issues taking hold both behind and on the screens it was never to be. It's great for fans as we buy and play the audios but I still feel Colin deserved to have received the same love on the tv screen and regret it wasn't to be. Peter Capaldi got his tenure to develop his charcterisation arc but Colin had it removed from him. As for the actor himself he remains a true gentleman and fan of the show. His graceful nature is impressive.
I don’t think there’s any greater redemption story in Doctor who than 6 and Mel. The state of those characters on tv relative to what we get now, especially in the most recent 6th Doctor arc, is just unbelievable. Every doctor might be the best doctor, but the 6th doctor may genuinely be the best doctor - and that’s thanks to Colin and big finish.
