Thanks for checking out my page! I consider myself a pretty major nerd and movie fiend. This channel will be mostly dedicated to character bios and action figure reviews with a special emphasis on Marvel and movies, but I am hoping to make lots of videos about characters from anime, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and more!
When I realized this didnt have an IR sensor, i was hoping that bottom row was for a potential Dragonzord. Then I found out it was for the display base. So now I'm sad.
It's astounding how little tablet comic book reviews there are ( I guess because the iPad is the go to). I was shopping around for a while lately (since my Fire HD 10 is too small for my old squinty eyes) for a large tablet and settled on just this tablet. Mulled it over for over a week, then ran a search and your recent video just popped up. It pushed me over the fence! Ordered the tablet 5 minutes after watching this vid :) Great video. Thank you so much. This is the most hyped I should personally be this entire year. Close to a 1:1 page ratio!
Yeah! I made my first comic book tablet video a few years ago because I was also looking for a similar video, but every tablet video is just a straight tablet review. And when someone mentioned this one I HAD to check it out and I'm really glad I did! The only bummer is that the cases they make for this include a cutout for the stylus, which for my purposes, is entirely unnecessary, but oh well. Still better than no case. I hope you enjoy the tablet!
Love it, great video. Triceratops was always my favorite. The other zords are just robot animals, but the Triceratops, for whatever reason got mixed with a tank, which is super cool. FYI, the SoC horns do come out and are connected by chains as well, just like on this fella. The Hasbro ZAP's leg/wheel/whatevers can do the same stuff as the SoC's as well.
@@ComicallyToys I have the opposite problem. If I look at it funny, or talk about it behind it's back, they just lop over. The chains go back in easily enough though, so it's never a real issue.
My only concern with digital is that should the service close you will not have access to your content. Don't get me wrong hold a tablet if far easier on the hands than an omni but there is no risk of me losing my omni because a comic store has shut down.
Yeah I hear ya. While I do subscribe to the big comic publishers, I also still purchase comics via Humble Bundle. The savings are always really amazing and I get to feel good about having legally acquired digital copies for myself!
@@ComicallyToys I'm starting to look more into digital now, as the benefit of carry your entire collection anywhere is appealing. Is there anyway to have your collection on a portable SSD?
I haven't read comics for ages but I clicked this because I thought you were going to show something I saw a few weeks ago, but you're not. You've GOT TO GO FIND IT because it leaves all three of these in the dust. It's a tablet that is matte (no reflective) but the screen is impossibly sharp and colorful. So when you compared the comic to this tablet, the one I saw rests in between. It's mindblowing. Go find it -- you'll love it!
@@screenplayhouse4932 Thanks a bunch! Yeah I kept seeing notifications and part of your reply and when I went to it, it would be gone. I guess RU-vid thought you were spamming or something? Either way I appreciate your response. I'll check it out!
Yeah! I know that it definitely isn't going to beat reading a real comic, but if you don't want to have to pull out your favorite issues or if you're traveling then reading digitally is a great way to get that fix. I think the most ideal reading device would be if they could make a REAL physical page that felt like a page, but could be easily switched to whichever issue you're reading. That way you'd get the satisfaction of the page turn and the double page panels, but tech like that seems like it's in a Star Trek like future that I'll never be around for haha!
💯💯💯 true! I think the Fire Max 11 is the best tablet for the $100 range by a long shot. The Lenovo is the best/cheapest for it's size. I think the Samsung is the next closest one in size, but it's like almost $1k as well??
@@ComicallyToys Yeah, I believe it was your original video that finally helped me decide on getting the Fire tablet. Been loving it ever since. Satisfied with the price:weight:screen ratio
I almost pulled the plug on this lol I decided to check reviews last minute; and what you pointed out with the head sculpt made up my mind. The rest of it is fine to me, but the weird sculpt for the face does not appeal Saved me $95aud, so thanks there
I'm really glad I was able to be helpful to you! Are you strictly a Green Ranger/Dragonzord collector or are you looking for just a particular Dragonzord to fill out your collection?
Awesome video, so informative and easy to understand. Question: Instead of printing again and again, why didn’t you just sand them to fit cleaner? Also what printer and exact resin did you use?
Thank you so much! So for the majority of my content I try to make things as easily repeatable as possible because while I know I could work at something to make it exactly the way I want, I'd rather make something that anyone can easily do as well. And the printer and exact resin are linked in the description! I hope that helps!
Just got mine today - the 'Detective Mode Variant'. Took me ages to realise that first bolt has a magnetic head on it, to lift the top center tile off !!!
@@ComicallyToys Hi...The question marks, fingerprints on the numbered keys & "Riddle me this" on the outside, plus the symbols on the inside lid are all 'invisible' until a uv/blacklight is shone on them ! As are a couple of question marks on the paper clues. The mechanics & everything else is exactly the same.
weeks ago I did the same operation on the left arm of my vault guardsman, initially the movement also blocked due to the size of the screw I used but I cut the screw and managed to adjust the correct size to achieve normal movement.
So you’re comparing the Dragonzord, to the more agile T-Rex??? ……Rrriiiiiiiiiaaaaaghtttttt. Compare it to the other Dragonzords mobility. I still like this Super 7 version
😅😅😅 I mean the T-Rex and Dragonzord fought in the show! Plus it was the previous release so it makes sense to compare in that regard. But compared to the other Dragonzords, its mobility is pretty terrible!
Really nice comparison video, amigo! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have both of these figures. I liked the first one, but he was so out of scale with the rest of my figures, man, so I was thrilled to get the new one. The original one had better paint by far, and the boots that I preferred. Great reds and an awesome gold. I can live with the changes, but I agree that the new one is diminished by not having the paint. The injection mold stuff is fine, but it's not as nice as the full-on paint treatment. I do wish that he'd been done at least the gold paint instead of the yellow, because that's where it starts to look more like a cheap toy. I also hope that Hasbro eventually gives us another the Mark 3 armor (the 20th Anniversary) with the gold paint treatment. Then we'd have a Mark 3 armor to match up with the 80th Iron Man Mark 4 suit, which remains my favorite Iron Man figure to date. I don't like that Hasbro's plastic has become a cheaper, rubbery material. Often figures won't hold poses well, and warping occurs far more often. Not a fan of them lowing the material quality. Their face sculpting has improved a lot, as has their face paint application technique, but I feel like they're still making us pay for that by using shoddier plastic and less paint apps over all. It's a real shame because Hasbro has been doing some nice looking stuff. But we need some cloth capes, and better plastic if Hasbro means to keep up with other action figure companies.
Thanks, man! You know I wonder about the decision for the change in plastic. Like, some of my older figures(at this point 10 years old) have very hard plastic to the point where it seems like it might be brittle? So maybe they changed the plastic to something that might last longer over time. But at the same time it also makes sense that they'd just change to something cheaper to increase their margins... But yes to cloth capes for sure! I think we are finally getting our first official Legends cape with the upcoming Doom!
I have been reading about a factory change for the figures. Do we know if it's more than better face paint applications? Not that they necessarily need more than that. Just curious though.
@@ComicallyToys I ordered from bbts recently. It was the 2.0 versions and the sculpt and paint were flawless. Ive seen the 1.0 versions at Target and i can never find one without defects.
Hey man I'm so sorry for the late reply and also that it didn't work. Since my last video I've learned that the company changed the formula to their product. I actually did reach out to them about it and they responded letting me know that they've gotten a lot of feedback so there is a good chance they'll be reverting the formula back to the old one. In the mean time I've ordered a few more brush cleaners to see if I can find one that will perform the same way. Sorry again!
