@@angelicaconiguliaro3179 Not yet. That step is going to be in our next video. Once we realized it was a bigger problem than just replacing a belt, we switched gears and focused on getting it running first. Stay tuned!
55 Foot Pounds: Check to see if rubber weatherstrip that surrounds engine cooling ducting ( stamped sheet metal/ also called tins) has a good seal. That weather strip connected to frame rails is vital to keep engine from overheating, otherwise,if seal is wonky: unwanted turbulent hot hair cooks the engine and effects engine performance. Compared to a Citroen 2CV which has excellent air cooling,Bug not so blessed with that attribute. Should plug those heat duct holes from fan and engine tins, otherwise, cooling is reduced severely along with engine performance, fan ducting done correctly, fan directs hot air out bottom of engine.
Thank you for the advice! The weather strip seems healthy so we should be ok. It felt great when we installed the tins anyways. We also installed plugs to help with cooling in the next episode which should be done soon. I’m still editing the video but getting close. 👊
They sure do love it. It's great that you still remember riding with pappy. I hope our kids remember their Vette rides forever as well! Enjoy the E-ray! Hold on to your seat when you take off in that thing! Should be exciting!
I just saw the first video of the boys bug project. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. Anyone watching, Like, Comment and Subscribe. Let's grow this channel and help nurture the boys love for an air-cooled state of being.
It's all private land, but there are lots of public spots. Landowners are very nice as long as you get permission. If you don't, they get really upset.
@@jhuerta2240 That's awesome! We will have to connect this season and get out there! I'm not sure what to expect this year with the current population, but we are going to give it a shot.
We would have loved to have a dog with us for the day. It wasn't an option, but that won't prevent us from going out in the field and having a great time. If any new hunters out there are reading this, you don't "have" to use a dog to go upland bird hunting. It's preferred, but not a deal-breaker. Everyone should get outdoors hunting, even if you don't have the perfect setup.
