Would anyone care to comment about his shameful relationship with Jim Jones and the People's Temple? A conspiracy theorist who helped concoct a rationale for murdering hundreds of people. I lost all respect for the guy after I read about that.
As a Chinese, it was the first time I heard Ben-Gurion express his views on China. It was indeed very rare. What was interesting was that the "people's communes" established by the CCP in the countryside at that time and the Israeli "kibbutz" were similar in nature. If it weren't for the Cold War confrontation, perhaps they would have been able to communicate happily.

It's my understanding the re-branded socialist ideas [Communist] have been actively promoted there for almost 75 years. Early on the Communist party relabeled their agenda terms to being 'Progressive, and Liberal'. Those labels are still with us today.

The Warren Report that relied upon a "theory" of a single shooter with no witnesses, no finger prints, no paraffin stains, and no motive who is himself murdered while in Police Custody in front of 70 police officers less than 48 hours later. And the theory involves 2 bullets that make 9 wounds and a 3rd that puts a hole in the window, the chrome above the window, nicks a bystander, and skidded into the grass and then later picked up by an unidentified man in a suit who placed it in his pocket and walked away. A Fake Autopsy, with burned notes, an Interrogation that is not recorded, not even a stenographer to write down the words. And Police Captains and a D.A. who drank for free at Ruby's club regularly, and who ignored the chain of evidence. Thank God for Mark Lane. He helped America realize the truth about the JFK Assassination.
Holy Toledo! 50 years later, it's still the same discussion in LA. But now ... the streets are meaner. At one point, you have to stop being disingenuous and acknowledge that poverty, poor education, fewer police, rampant crime, etc. exist BY DESIGN in order to thin the herd (part of depop program).
When I think about the uphill battle these (and other) women leaders had to endure, it pains me to realize that most young women today still want to snag a man, get married, have a baby right away to cement the union (and ensure future child support), and stay home, it's clear we haven't come that long of a way--sadly!
I admire Mr. Wiesel very much. However, when asked about living in one's native land vs. the lands of the diaspora, I wish prople were more honest. I am an Armenian born in Romania and living in the US. Would I want to live in Armenia or Romania? Of course not. Why? So simple: it's a much harder life with fewer opportunities. There! He was just bombastic and charismatic and everyone ate it up If any other proof is needed that he was a charlatan just look at his work in Jonestown up until the day of the Kool Aide incident.
I am listening to this in June 2024, and it is relevant today as it has ever been. What a great man, his words are as powerful now as never in Jewish history.
Is this really ucla 1970 or is it a later speech accidentally mislabeled? Just want to make sure because so many commenters are making statements as if this speech was towards the end of his life after his Israeli political career, which would’ve been decades later. All of the seemingly contemporaneous reference to the black panthers and the shoah approximately 30 years prior suggests that this speech actually took place in the early 70s. I wish more people would take a little bit of time to study and research basic relevant historical data before making such bold pronouncements.

It's truly shocking how low our world has sunk since then. Actually, The USA & Israel & the west as a whole. The USSR became a conservative nation & we are becoming Communists. This virus doesn't seem to die out it seems, it just infects new hosts, as do the Fascism & Nazism viruses.
