Given what is presented here, safe to suggest that we would likely expect an uptick in bone stress injuries as carbon plate marathon shoes become more widely used by the general age group / hobby running population? It would be interesting to do some meta analysis in coordination with companies like Stryd, Polar, Garmin that likely have a large data set of analytics measuring a host of metrics using foot pod accelerometers including pace, cadence, ground contact forces, as well as metadata on shoe type being worn. Stryd seems to have the most complete set of metrics from what I've seen. All of that said, I suspect a review of that data would show the relative increase in ground contact forces with carbon vs traditional non-plated shoes.
Hey, this was a very helpful video to understand the measurement of the IMU. Do you know if there isany programm where acceleration signals can be integrated to detect the orientation in x, y and z direction?
Fighter jet planes have been using IMUs for half a century. You can calculate position if you first calibrate off an initial known position. The longer you travel, the less reliable your reading.
Hi Muntean, we have an ankle mounted product with the devices that produces ready made metrics called IMU-Step. You can also place sensors anywhere on the body and get the raw data outputs, so it really depends on your application!
