I calibrate each time I use my meter for the day. I do lots of grab samples once a week at industrial ponds and calibrate in the morning before I start sampling. I will also calibrate if I notice a number just off or if an area is particularly filthy-- I will run a quick rinse and calibrate.... but other than that... only when I use the device. I am sure everyone is different and depending what you are doing requirements may be different.
