I made flexipaste roses etc about a week ago and they were lovely but now it rained for 3 days and they are really sticky now. I am trying to get them to dry out again but some are ruined. Should I add tylose to the paste before using this?
Hello and thank you for watching. Since Chef Nicholas launched the FlexiPaste product, this is the first time that I have learned of damp weather affecting the results. FlexiPaste is formulated to withstand normal weather conditions and humidity. A suggestion would be to place the FlexiPaste flowers into a airtight container with lots of absorbent paper like paper towels/toilet paper, along with some packets of silica gel. (Silica Gel is the product in small packets that arrive when you purchase shoes, handbags, electronic devices, etc. to keep them dry during transit, and is available on-line like from Amazon.) Another good product to use would be to create a deep bed of white rice, which absorbs moisture very well. Going forward, next time once your flowers have air dried, place then into this air tight container with silica gel, rice and paper and ensure that the lid is indeed on tight.
