Great record from back in the day. 1966 NYC my place, and my time. My life was like a rocket and I was heading into outer space. The Blues Magoos were going to make it big ......
Extremely unlikely you’ll see this or be able to help me lol, but do you have a download link (or something similiar) to the album this is from? It’s not on Spotify anymore and I would really like to listen to it again
There's a Moonlighting episode where David Addison (Bruce Willis)comes in to work singing this. Because the night before he and Maddie finally got it on. That's where I first heard this song. Somehow missed it when it came out.
This really, really needs to be seen in the context of the movie. Pounding along for an eternity, twice the length of this version, from the 50 minute mark. Most fun party ever. :-) Slim Gaillard was living in London in 1986, for the same reason as Jimi Hendrix back in 1970: the top British musicians adored them.
Man oh Man - After the football home games - the sounds of one of our local garage bands called "The Kicks" would blast our of the cafetorium where the dance was held. This song and Wait to till the Midnight hour was always on tap. I graduated in 1969 - Niceville, Fl. The band guys were all my friends - the one you. grew up with and that is....special. Although they all went their seperate ways after school - They stayed with the music and each other. They started getting together again for class reunions about 20 years ago. Hard to do as the keyboard man iived in Las Vegas! The classes of 67, 68, 69 and 70 were all close....All were invited toany "Gathering" over the years. Class of 68 had their reunion and the "Kicks" played. Same for the class of 69. Guys...you do'nt now the feeling this gives when you look back and hear the music that you heard in your teen years by guys that knew how to put on a show. We lost a good man this year - Sang, played bass (hard to do sometimes - sing and still do your bass riff. I play). Bobby...you forgot more about music than most people learn in a lifetime. You are sooo MISSED! No one these days seems to have a live rock band or country band .... pick one, made up of folks at at school. Sad. There is magic there.
