Hello and welcome! My name is Seth and I enjoy traveling around to some of the world's most sought after and luxurious properties - often trying to get there in style, too. What I enjoy the most though, is sharing my experience with you! Thanks for watching.
I've stayed at this property both when it was the Trump hotel and now a Waldorf Astoria and the experience has been night and day. CGI Merchant Group (who bought the lease from the Trump Organization) has really done a crappy job of maintenance on the hotel and cutting corners, hence the issues you pointed out. When this hotel was the Trump International, it was meticulously upkept and the food and bar was overall of a much higher caliber. Just a month or so ago CGI formally lost control of the building due to defaulting on the loan and a subsequent foreclosure sale. Hilton Worldwide currently is trying to keep the building in their portfolio as they are providing the property management of the building. The only things CGI did to the building once they acquired it from the Trump Organization was change the signs, virtually everything else is the same. I happily go to the Conrad or the St. Regis now as my hotels of choice in D.C.
I’ve been to the St. Regis and liked it - although the room I got still felt dated but way better than the WA. I’ve been meaning to check out the Conrad!
I think you must’ve been there in February. I was also there and Makha bucha one of the religious days that they don’t serve alcohol. I haven’t stayed at the st Regis yet. I have otherwise stayed at all the higher end Marriott properties in Bangkok. Marriott, both of them, the W, Rennaisance, and the JW. The JW by far is my favorite (and one of my favorite city hotels in the world). The executive lounge there is beautiful, and breakfast can be eaten there, or in the main restaurant which is amazing.
I was there in February! And you hit the nail on the head it was Makha Bucha. I definitely recommend the St. Regis next time you’re there, and I’ll have to try the JW!
Like it by the way you could have simply shortened the trip by asking the JFK staff which one world Alliance carrier from East Asia can actually take you to Bangkok. For people that do southeast Asia to New York they would really want to shorten the layover by actually going towards Japan and Hong Kong. Keep in mind the plane that took you to Doha in the Middle East would then have the Filipino crew rest there then take the same plane to the Philippines from Qatar. FYI you would have passengers go Q suits all the way to MNL/CRK/DVO from JFK. Even though the shortcut does exist New York JFK/EWR to Hong Kong. Where it's a shorter flight to the Philippines
The waiter told me that several people had sent it back! It’s pretty wild. Thankfully, he asked before hand if I was okay with it and I figured I’d give it a try.
in the video, it appeared that you deplaned in DOHA, walking directly into the terminal and not having to go through a security checkpoint, back into the terminals-? I recall being able to do that only once on QR, vs several flights with them. ( some of their connections back to the U.S. are tight/less than 2 hours, landing from South Africa. ) loved the video content, with humor.
That’s correct! Landing in Doha and then connecting through to Bangkok I did not have to go through security again. But, when I returned to the US, I had to go through security in Bangkok and again in Doha. I’m so glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching!
I really like Delta Sky Clubs, they’ve made my travel experience better on many occasions, but I totally agree with you that the overcrowding is a problem.
Nah Park Hyatt is fire, and its actually the best luxury hotel for points in NYC, considering Hyatt Loyalty Program is a million years above other hotel programs this Park Hyatt comes very cheap and almost free for us travelholics as we earn points so damn easily, get upgraded to larger suites which are massive for the price and NYC standards think of a 100+ m² with private terrace for $700/night in my case combining points and cash (real price is $2000/night for these suites), free breakfast, early and late checks, welcome presents, $200 dining and spa credit, etc etc, this is the best you can get for the buck, and I don't understand your final thoughts, yeah the room you stayed was tiny and had an awful view but that's on you, the hotel is nowhere near small as you said and it isn't dated (for reference check out the Plaza, St Regis, Ritz Carlton, Peninsula, The Langham, then you will be seeing this Hyatt as ultra modern believe me 😅)
Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed comment! That is interesting to hear that the other luxury hotels in NYC feel less modern and more dated. I’ll definitely have to check them out when I’m back in NYC. I agree with your thoughts on Hyatt’s loyalty program, they deserve credit for having a great offering there. Thanks for watching!!
It’s certainly dated. Really the only Delta One product I want to fly now is the Suites. Otherwise, there are generally much better options for your money.
Very nice, but your video views are less because your video Title, Description and SEO are not done properly, your content is very nice but if you make SEO friendly your content will get more views is likely to happen, Thank you ...
I appreciate the feedback! I’m also glad you enjoyed the content. I am definitely new to this whole RU-vid thing so my title, description, and SEO may not be optimized yet, but I’m definitely working on it!
Most of it was filmed on a GoPro Hero 11 Black. In hindsight, I would have just used my iPhone in all of the low light areas. The GoPro is great for daylight but underperforms when there isn’t enough light it seems.
I can totally understand that and it’s definitely a nice hotel! But when compared to other options out there in the $900/night price range though, I thought this fell a bit short.
Great video. It brought back great memories. I flew from Australia to LAX last year return in Qsuites, and all 4 legs of the journey in Qsuites. I couldn't fault it at all, the food was fantastic. I had backwards facing seats as I preferred to be close to the window and further away from the aisle. I didn't have any issues facing backwards. I'm hoping to do it again in 2025.
I am flying to Bangkok this weekend…usually take SWISS which is ok but always wanted to try Q suites but Qatar from Miami is very pricey for Business Class- like $10,000 RT
Wow that is pricey! Do you have any credit card points to use that can transfer over? Sometimes you can find some good deals about a week away from departure by using points.
Hm, it seems you’re right! It just looks like it’s in the south part of Thailand on a map but it is considered central Thailand. Good to know! Thanks for the kind words.
This is a well put together / editied video. It's got my excited to fly Q-Suite. Can I ask, you said there was an equipment change from DOH>BKK was there still a first class on this flight?
Thanks so much for the kind words! There was no first class after the equipment swap. I had booked business class all the way through, so it didn’t affect me (other than I really wanted to fly the A380).
If I had to venture a guess it would have something to do with a word rhyming with honey (with a little bit of issues getting new planes delivered sprinkled in there)
@@Free-to-RoamI wonder will there 767’s that are over 30 years be retired in the new future? And I also wonder are they selling off their CF6 powered 763s off for freighter conversions as must airlines tend to do
WOW didnt know they charged for snacks now... Rode them in early 2022 and everything was included snacks, coffee and the beer. Plus when I rode it was 99$ for 129$ idk. really liked the bus and the seats though
I was surprised by that too because I had heard exactly what you’re reporting - that drinks and snacks were all free. Needless to say that was a little disappointing.
The JET bus is surprisingly nice (probably the most luxurious bus I’ve ever seen) but I agree with you-I’m not sure the value proposition is entirely there when you consider the speed and convenience of Amtrak. Your stair climb montage had me dying. Keep em coming! #Roamies
It’s nice for sure. But could you imagine getting stuck in standstill traffic?? Not enough drinks on that bus to keep me happy for that long. Glad you enjoyed!!
looks like another MEDIOCORE Delta flight!! I rarely fly Delta and when I do it is NEVER impressive! How they manage to get high ranking is beuond me!! You did a great job a great video.
Thank you for the kind words (to me lol)! I’ve definitely heard that criticism a lot. I’ve flown Delta quite a bit and while I do think it is the best of the big 3 American carriers, it certainly doesn’t even come close to most international carriers, especially those from the Middle East and Asia.
You're clearly someone who loves to complain about anything and everything. My experiences with Delta are beyond phenomenal that they're the one and only airline that I'm planning on being a pilot for. I flew from Milan to Atlanta on this exact same aircraft and it was fantastic. People like you only complain about the negatives and never talk about the positives. I couldn't imagine sitting next to you on a flight for several hours, all you'll do is just complain, complain, complain...
@@thecomedypilot5894 I have flown over a MILLION miles with American Airlines, when I am spending my cash on a First Class airline ticket I expect a higher level of service and sadly Delta consistently fails In the air as well as on the ground. I am in a wheel chair and they have left me stranded at a gate after they switch gates This has never happened on American Airlines.
Because they are still better than every other American airline and it isn’t even close except for maybe Alaska. Yes, there are international airlines that are better, but if you’re flying to or from America, Delta is as good as it gets.
Nice to snag one of the retrofitted 767-300(K)s. Although I wish this was a more substantial retrofit, it still looks really nice with the new finishes.
@@Free-to-Roam taken a few of these domestically between Atlanta and Phoenix the last few months and its a completely acceptable alternative to the A321 or 757-300 that is usually on this route. Internationally its kinda iffy.
