hi I'm Nia, and I'm multidisciplinary artist with a love of all things cute. On this channel, I hope to share a little bit of industry insight and my artistic whimsy with the world! ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ☆

went to the exact same farm but it florida and let me just say i never thought hand-picking peaches and sunflowers while dressed in a dainty cottagecore outfit would soothe my soul as much as it did. also the cake turned out phenomenal <3
Aww loved this vlog! I love chill/artsy vids. Omg don’t get me started on being 27, I can’t wait to be 28😂 def lemme know if you’d ever want to hang out/come visit in chicago❤🎉 happy birthday Nia, you deserve all of the happiness 🎉🎉❤🎂🥹
thank you!!! and thank you for watching!!! 😊 I would sooo love to meet and catch up, Chicago's been on my travel list for awhile!! hope you are doing well 🙂💖
I have been in contact with UArts since the beginning of 2024 to pursue a degree there. and I was finally getting on track. recently was offered multiple scholarships and possibly an exhibit here (at home) soon in a local art center and the gallery at my workplace. and suddenly I found the article about the university's closure. I was devastated, which may seem dramatic but since my freshman year, I've been searching for an art college that suited all my needs. I finally found it and was so excited it became my dream and what drove me in school and my art. Then reality seemed to cave in on me. I recently relocated the files i made when i was researching colleges. next on my list was PAFA, gone. Delaware wasn't my top choice but it was still on that list. gone. I'm so scared that by the time i graduate all my options will have run dry. and even then, if i do find a college then it may fail at some point in my 4 years. at this rate there will be no Fine Arts\ none digital art specializing colleges or universities in the U.S in a matter of years. almost 2 colleges monthly are ubruptly closing. you can go to a number of community colleges or universities for graphic design or digital art, but for the fine arts, expressive dance, etc., these colleges are a dying breed.
where do you get the hooks and storage for your pegboard omg??? i have one at home and i need to organize it better cuz it looks so awful and cluttered 😭
This was a super cozy watch. Everything you make and enjoy is full of such color and happiness ;; !! Thank you for including all of the names of the products too! I’m so glad you enjoy the rengoku cover too :3 Do you mind me asking what camera and tripod you use?
aw thank you so much!!! i really appreciate it - it's my prized possession T-T as far as my equipment, I went ahead and included some links in the description for easy access. But I am currently using a Sony ZV1 and a EUCOS Newest Tripod to film with! :)
I’d love to see more solo artists banding together when a show finishes, to form micro studios/ collectives, without feeling they have to depend on big studios
I really think more and more platforms are going to start doing the same thing as IG (especially if they see them get away with it and profit from it). I don't understand why IG wouldn't just allow the option for people to opt out of it. There's still tons of people who don't care and would opt in. It's really discouraging to have our art stolen from us and used to train the very thing we've been complaining about replacing us. At times, I wish I could leave social media altogether but I know that's not an option if I want to sell my art in the future. Plus I've made so many amazing connections on social media. So now I'm kinda stuck using IG even though it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Idk what else to do beyond give Cara a try and glaze my art whenever I post it now. 😩
I always assumed punch needle was hard to do. You make it look simple 👀 Maybe I'll try it in the future. But I do have a bunch of crochet stuff I still haven't touched yet so I should probably do that first 😆
I totally have a similar feeling. My jobs have never been art or animation related but I definitely would get that gnawing feeling that I'm putting so much time and effort into someone else's dreams (and mostly money hungry corporations that didn't care about any of us employees). Even as I work alongside a friend with a new business venture, I find I'm doing a lot of work I don't necessarily enjoy just to save money and the overall message of the business is not completely mine (some times my voice gets completely erased to fit the brand's voice). I much rather work on my own thing where I have complete control over my message and what I create. I hope you're able to use your platform more to do the things you truly enjoy. ♥
Professor Claudia!!! I’m so happy this reached you, and thanks for watching! Your gender studies and feminism class stick with me to this day! UArts may have closed, but your profound teachings and the impact you had on your students are truly everlasting. Thank you for being such an influential and inspiring educator during my time there!! :)
@@niadragon im so sad ill never get to experience this now. its been my dream for years. now im back on the search for affordable Fine Arts colleges. do you have any suggestions that may help?
So many Philly art colleges have been shutting down it’s disheartening mine shut down a few years ago Hussian and I still lol need that loan money back
Honestly I have given up on uploading art, I never intended making a living off of it anyway... 😅 I remember a couple years ago it used to be so fun to draw, I was always motivated to share stuff I like and all that, and even made a few friends. It used to be a very fun place but now all I see is everyone complaining about everything, everyone is just talking about business, migrating to different apps... just chaos haha 🥴 I rarely open Instagram nowadays, I just don't see the point anymore, but I still wish the best of luck to everyone who are making a living out of art. 😊
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, this video was very interesting!!🩷🩷I've experienced burnouts trying to follow all the algorithms changes of instagram and trying to make new videos every week🥲 I'll definitely give a try to the Cara app and hope it'll meet its promises and artists can concentrate on what they love, creating art!😊🌈🌱🎨🖌️✨
I can definitely relate - fighting the algorithm and pushing out videos constantly is like running on an endless treadmill 😭 Hope Cara takes off for us all and is a lil easier to manage ❤️
I feel your pain. I was part of the animation team on Archer when that ended late last year. This industry has been insane recently but I’m hopeful that animation will bounce back. I’m wishing you luck with everything on your end! 🍀
I just graduated from film school with a very similar experience to you. I would be crying for days if I found out they had to close. Praying for all the teachers, students, and alumni!
Love the shoutouts to Chris and Erik. They have truly shaped the animation department at UArts, along with the rest of the professors/faculty too, and have positively impacted so many artists (including myself) thanks to the program. Still processing the loss of UArts, a huge gut to the Avenue of the Arts here in Philly
I wonder how current students are taking this. I hope their education isn’t too disrupted. This goes for high school students planning their futures as well. Not from the US and nowhere near those post-secondaries, but my best wishes for anyone affected by this!
UArts shutting down was so shocking for a variety of reasons. I graduated from there two yrs ago but have a younger cousin who just graduated this year. He told me how his professors were excited and expecting a bigger student body this fall, new hirers would be joining in, my even littler cousin attended UArts’ high school Saturday school program, which is brand new! It just seemed like the school would be expanding, this younger cousin and all her friends that attended this program had UArts as their top choice. And why would they not after a positive experience with the professors (shout out to Lowell!) and in a city with such a bustling creative scene like Philadelphia? Much of the community are suspecting higher management, as you said there’s no arguing how poorly they handle money lol. Both the previous and current president are terribly unpopular among the community. But to shut down soon after the faculty union finally settled on a contract too, after years of them fighting? It’s so extremely suspicious! Where is everyone’s money going if not back into the school, the professors, upgrading the equipment and infrastructure? And who’s spending it? There will be a town hall meeting on Monday. I’m not gonna get my expectations up, but I hope the big questions will be answered. I hope the best for everyone who made this school what it is, who are now left scrambling but deserve so much better Update: the town hall meeting got cancelled 10 min before it was supposed to happen 🙃
Likewise!! I was shocked when I learned that they were expecting bigger classes as well and STILL closed. Even more disheartening was hearing a former professor earned a promotion recently just to never actually assume that role. My heart really goes out to the community - it's truly disheartening to witness the decline of a 120 year old institution that birthed and guided so many amazing careers
@@niadragon seeing the posts shared from our beloved professors is the most heartbreaking part :( that’s so sad to hear, many people had similar expectations due to the opportunities the school had given them, and now this? What a detriment, and towards something as important as your professional/college career!
Thank you for answering my questions! I’ve seen so many advertisements for business websites platforms but it always feels nice to just get a down to earth opinion. This was very insightful and will help me to decide where to move my insta business. 💕
Great video! I almost never hear anyone touching the topic of how important it is to constantly save money when you're working as an artist. It's crazy how much it can fluctuate 😶
for sure! definitely something that should be discussed with more transparency. when I graduated I was blind sighted to learn how necessary it was to do this
I really appreicate the answer to the questions! You've been hitting the mark with your videos, and I'll definitely take your word! Keep up the fantastic videos yo!
I definitely recommend creating your own avenue as a content creator if you have the drive for it. Sure, the path might be pretty long but it's ultimately worth it in the end. (thats what I believe anyway lol) good luck-I'll be here supporting yours!
