Hi Jack - great question - the color itself would not prevent a diamond from being certified 8X - however, most fancy color diamonds are cut to retain maximum color, and in most cases, without a focus on maximizing the light performance. It would be extremely rare to find a fancy color diamond cut to the specification of 8X...but it is possible.
