Mostly woodworking and fixtures, CNC related items, jigs, and templates for building acoustic guitars. You'll also see some of the items we design and sell in our Etsy shop and other items you may not see anywhere else. Occasionally there will be a machine restoration or shop improvement or some component rebuilt and sometimes grandkids doing their thing.

5:58 why do you glue the front strip, or do you do it around each shelf? thank you for your video
@difalkner
@difalkner 17 дней назад
@@Blackhowk3 I assume you are referring to the middle and bottom shelves. That was done to give the look of Curly Maple to all of the shelves and not just the top one. Once equipment is on the shelves, you wouldn’t really be able to see the shelves themselves. And it was far less expensive to use Hard Rock Maple for those two shelves and put the Curly Maple strip on the front to give it the same look as the top shelf. My dewalt DWE7491RS job site table saw does the exact same thing with Diablo blade. Has torn a wider Kerf into my crosscut sled. I think it’s the nature or job site saws and their thin Kerf blades deforming under startup torque. I think most people job site saws are just using miter gauges at best to crosscut and not fancy Crosscut sleds like this. I’ve just learned to live with the slightly bigger Kerf in my sled. Thanks for posting!

There's a lot of deflection from the pinion against the rack, with the moment being located where the larger pinion meets the tensioning arm. Has this proven to be an issue over the last five years at all? It seems less than optimal, as in principle the pinion will only be engaging the near edge of the rack. The grease probably telegraphs this if it's the case.

Hi David, Great video and you were able to spend the video time in documenting everything. Heck of a nice shop too👍👍 My neighbor down the street has a shop in his garage and we built a stereo rack similar in design but about 4” shorter due to the limitations in my music room. We used 3 birch countertop slabs for shelves and African mahogany for the 4 legs. I stained the legs in a dark Java color (Gel/oil-based) from General Finishes. I applied 3 coats of General Finishes Gel Satin (oil based) to the shelves and legs and it was just yesterday that I completed the last coat in my garage. Now I will need to wait a month for the finish to cure before placing 50 lb. stereo gear on the shelves. Again, congrats on your wonderful vid!
