Balk Shipyard is one of the world’s leading superyacht refit and rebuild shipyards. Founded in 1798 building wooden fishing vessels, Balk Shipyard shifted to steel and aluminium barges and small yachts in the early 1900s; not long after it focused on the construction and restoration of yachts.

As the company evolved and expanded it outgrew its facilities in Elburg and moved to the picturesque harbour town of Urk in 2004. This is where Balk Shipyard can be found today.

Balk Shipyard has three ultra-modern construction halls, state-of-the-art workshops and warehousing, and a paint-spraying cabin. The slipway installation can lift vessels up to 1,000 tonnes out of the water.

The yard is an hour's drive from Amsterdam; easy for owners and their representatives to visit. Balk Shipyard is also perfectly accessible by boat. We could be a strategic stop for a refit or maintenance when travelling to Northern Europe or when a course is set from North to South.
