What’s up?! My name is Mike Levitsky, I am a Pastor and musician from Southern California. On this channel you can expect to see drum lessons for all levels of drummers. I try to cover everything from technique to grooves to fills. If you would need on a particular topic feel free to hit me up. I am also toying with the idea of doing drum support videos where I would watch people play and offer advice on how to improve.
WOW! She actually is better than most drummers I have ever heard! And that means 5 decades worth! I remember that I used to play these red hydraulic shin toms back in the 70s, they sound very deep! This lady is just totally incredible!
It's interesting, the qualities that you didn't like about the melody of the lyrics are the same qualities that make it one of my favorite songs. It's sort of a doom-y, sludge-y melody, definitely a lot of monotone, but I love the way most of the melodic lines have a downturn at the end, its like each line is fighting to stay alive and eventually collapsing, with parts like the melody before the chorus have a very weightless feel to them for a few moments to create that tension. It's sort of creepy, definitely some Black Metal-ish vibes mixed in with the cuteness. Hard to describe I guess but I love it! Respect, good video.
Steward Copeland was the reason I turned to splashes in the early eighties and he always had 2 and a Bell. 10” and 8” splash and an 8” Bell, all Paiute 2002. These two sound as a perfect set. Meanwhile I’ve had many different splashes as I play many different brand setups (as a drum tech and Backline rental Company). Still each splash has to be heard in person as they are extremely sensitive to weight as they are so small. Again, these sound great together!
Yes it is lingus. One of my favorite songs ever. I love your videos man! Keep up the musical insanity! Yes Larnell Lewis and the aux player, Idr his name, they're both from Snarky Puppy
Pause 10 sec in to discuss kit, how about before starting? Is it necessary to puke words over her playing nonstop? Okay, less than 60 sec later, another jarring interruption, MORE kit description, round 2. Another pause 30 sec in, I'm not tryna be a dick, but is it possible ANYONE wants to hear your firehose puke knowledge dump. If so, my bad, but a suggestion, let me hear it uninterrupted and if you absolutely need to dazzle me with your knowledge ceaselessly, replay that part w/ commentary as opposed to puking over every square inch of Senri Chan's monstah kit woik. Hey, I might totally be an outlier and people wanna hear pause and puke rather than her playing, just one dipshits opinion.
Junna is a beast. She is amazing. She hits hard as …. She makes it look so easy. Check out her drum covers. I personally like her cover of Metallicas Lux AEterna. Lars can go home. Check out her fills. She is incredibly talented. She started when she was 15. Great reactions. Love from Sweden.
Saluda makes awesome cymbals and they are a USA company with a great staff. I bought a set of their Earthworks cymbals and also have a few of their prototypes.
I just bought five Earthworks series cymbals and they're excellent! 21" ride, 2 17" medium crashes, an 18" medium crash, and a custom-made 16" 'hissing' china (Yes...they will custom make cymbals to get the sound you want!). Great company and solid quality in their products.
Just watched your take on Larnell Lewis. Hmm. It's been a year since you've done reactions and I don't see any Jacob Collier or Snarky Puppy. You could do both at once with "Don't You know" which also includes Larnell. Jacob has tons of different ones with different genres, either overlayed a capella or playing multiple instruments like on "All Night Long".
He uses the whole kit! Love the accents on the splashes and variation with all the tempo changes. What a power house! Great way of breaking the video down as well 👌
Ooof, hands down got to be one of the best drummers!! And and and he’s also into piano playing which is so cool (correct me if im wrong tho, i remember reading it)😊
