Hi, I am Kavita and I have made this channel to show my journey of how we got Canada PR and how we are moving and settling in Canada. I will try to show our experiences in Calgary, Canada from the day of first time landing in Canada.
So welcome to our encounters in a new country and culture. Welcome to my channel K family in Canada.
@amsaurabh That's a very good question... actually, we just faced issues on online checkin... we were not allowed to do that... the message was that everything will happen at the airport. At the airport, no problem and no additional documents were asked ... it was good with our Indian passport.
Thanks We r also going in October Please inform can we put makhan packet?? U put dal There is some seed prohibited U didn't have any problem with dal rice ???
@Shwe913 No, I didn't face any issue with the things I packed. People take frozen ghee nicely packed, liquid item is a strict no no. You can purchase butter from there... don't take so much hassle... ghee is also easily available there ... check my DAY 1 video. Are you going on PR... permanently or soft landing? Which part would you be staying in?
I watch your videos as I love calgary and I'm also from delhi.. but I wanna give some suggestions, It would be better that you don't record strange people as you don't know who is comfortable and who is not, it can be an issue. Also when you show surrounding, don't move the camera so fast, it gives headache.. I hope you will take it as positive note. Keep making vlogs.
I live nearby. Its called 80’s plaza. If you need any kind of help or ride please don’t hesitate. We r always here to help others. And also be prepared for winter i hope you bought winter jackets as indian winter clothes will not help in alberta. Waiting for reply
Welcome to yyc. Saw first time your vlog. Please DM me if need any kind of help or assistance. Btw we r in N.E. where you guys are residing. Hope to see you soon.
@ShaiHaider yeah it was just a matter of a few days... since we did the soft landing isliye bus ya train pass nahi liya but you are right it is economical to buy a pass.
@SnehalChhatbar Yes, and I have also got a request to send pictures of my elder son for PR card as IRCC guys mentioned some specs issue. Rest 3 have been received by my friend.
@@Kfamilyincanada great and congratulations! Just to follow up to that one, how many days it took for your PR Cards to be delivered? And so, how you are going to get those PR cards.?
@@Kfamilyincanada yes I am also planning for soft landing with my family. So, can I ask for specific number of days - how many days it took for receiving PR cards? Sorry for asking specific question because I need to plan my travel accordingly.
@SnehalChhatbar of course... no worries! I am glad to be able to help. We landed on the 18th of August when our PR cards were applied and received them on 14th September. Where and when do you plan to land?
@@Kfamilyincanada I used to live in Brampton Ontario but since you are newcomers you guys should think to move in Montreal Quebec where you feel like Canada.
@@Kfamilyincanada not necessarily if you know English you can still live better life in Montreal because cost of living is cheaper than any other province and in future you can learn French it’s an easier than English. There are so many indian families live in Montreal. Also down US is like road trip from Montreal. Also very nice sunny weather during spring and summer. And schools are best of all of Canada because French people and teacher are nicer.
@Kaiserbulla Hi, this is the question that we really struggled with and even thought of buying a car seat. But with a little more research, we found out that the toddlers don't need it in Taxi/cabs. It is mandatory in private vehicles, though. So we took a cab from the airport and there was no requirement for a car seat. Hope this is helpful.
@Kaiserbulla absolutely don't worry. You won't need it in the cab. I have been through this, so I understand the worry 😊 when you plan to land and where?
@iranpreetkaur2952 Actually, we are open to both the cities but think that Calgary is a little more lively and populated, so made our first landing here. Calgary is close to Banff and saw many more things in Calgary on youtube, so took our first chance here. Rest depends on the job 🙂
Video is nice there is a suggestion don't use any background music while you are talking. 2ndly make a detailed video about your PR jourey share the exact timeline and cost thanks .
@malikSaira-t3g if you know the dates of your landing, I would suggest booking an Airbnb for a couple of weeks and look out for the area where you would like to stay depending on the job etc. and search for a rented place. To start with you can stay in NE region which is closer to Airport and we'll connected. I think the approximate rent of a basement like we stayed in would be 17-18 hundred. You can check out my Day 1 video to see the house tour of the walkout basement.
New subscriber here want more vlogs 😅 Main bhi a raha hu Calgary December m Bow valley college m thora udhar ka area bhi dikha dena Agar time mile mam 😊
@ps4gamer195 Yeah, we want to explore that... what do you suggest? NE bhi theek lag raha hai... has things in close vicinity and metro connectivity. Not sure about schools, though... which region in Calgary has good schools for kids.
@@Kfamilyincanada I'd suggest exploring NW and SW a bit. They are very good communities. NW has decent connectivity, SW is completely car dependent - but both are lovely communities. NE has a lot more bus connectivity, but getting a car is a must if you plan to live in Calgary (due to cold). Take an Uber and visit those two places would be my recommendation :)
@ps4gamer195 Thank you so much... will definitely weigh in all the localities you mentioned, and you are right that a car is a must to live in Calgary. Any idea on where good schools are located in Calgary?
General PNP procedure mein Aapko kitna Kharch hua ? Exactly kitna .. including IELTS fees and all Documents procedure fees .. Apka PR Agent ke through hua thaa Ya khud hee sara process kiya ...
@sameng7003 As you know, the whole process is a little expensive one. We spent INR 14k on IELTS (cost per attempt). I and my husband both gave it. $4220 is the normal charge we gave to IRCC for application, Visa, etc, for a family of 4, which is approximately 274000 in INR. For medical exams, we gave 7600/- per person for adults. Fund proof wagarah aap IRCC ki site pe check ker sakte as it keeps getting updated.

@manishmehta9917 thank you! Yup, it's less expensive than cities in Ontario, plus so close to nature and less busy. Good opportunities are available, I think. Lastly, we got our PNP nomination from Alberta, so it could have either been Edmonton or Calgary, we are thinking of Calgary 🙂
