This is not a coffee machine - but a useless crema generator. It doesn't matter if your roast is fresh or not. YOU will get cold coffee with a nasty taste and unnatural crema.

When I bought it I had the same problem as you but after 2 days I find the best way to make an hot coffee. Anyway if you want a perfect coffee, quickly and easily, you have to buy a simple moka. But if you want a coffee as you drink in an Italian bar, you have to buy a Pavoni (the queen of coffee machines. But it costs a lot of money)

Just use a citric acid solution and purge it after 30 minutes, like the Gaggia citric acid coffee cleaner. I use it on my channel for my Gaggia Classic Pro Espresso machine and for my automatic drip machine.
