What’s "Theology Mukbang"? Have you ever been “struck” by words in a book? So this is why we underline and/or record that content in a notebook, so that we could go back and think about the idea some more. Do you do this? Well, you are not alone; Dr. Glomsrud quotes Blair in Heidegger’s The Concise Marrow of Theology: “In the Renaissance school children throughout Europe were taught to keep notebooks in which they were to record passages from their reading worth saving for memorization and later use….”(xxi) This has been done with books, why not with other media? This channel does just that: it stores theological statements that interests this particular learner. I did this privately for quite some time for my own edification, so now I have made these underlinings public. Also, hopefully these clips will be helpful to my Bible students whom I teach. Further, there will be interviews on theology and books and a conversation/book club episodes on Muller's PRRD coming up! So stay tuned!

I believe that the particular culture of the late twentieth and twenty-first century was (is) controlled by non-Christians. Therefore, the mindset that permeates is a thoroughly anti-Christian one. The reasons vary, but all the mainline Churches (Anglicans, Presbyterians, Methodists, and even Catholics, and Orthodox) were sequestered by Liberalism in some form or another. The damage varied in each denomination but it was still there. Then you have Evangelicals (a distinctly American version of Christianity) which harnessed some measure of restrain against the liberal conquest. Yet...the reason for the liberal hostile takeover occurred in the Academic arena. Therefore, Evangelicals retreated from the halls of the universities. The Mainline Protestant Churches splintered. The Catholics have not recuperated either, the onslaught of SSPX, Sedevacantists, and other Rad-Trad movements prove that there is corrosive division in Catholicism. Orthodox themselves have variants that go from very liberal to extremely reactionary. To be very fair, both Catholics and Orthodox still retain a measure of unity, though in the trenches and beyond apologetics, the situation is far more divisive. The malady of liberalism must be expunged from all Mainline Churches (be they Protestant or Ecclesialist). Evangelicals must enter into the realm of academia. Avoid political associations with parties and focus on infusing the culture with Christianity. Slowly, the tide can turn, but only if the Mainline is strong. Ecumenical dialogue is great but it can only do so much as long as liberalism is still at large. What is the point of a faithful Anglican and Lutheran debating the issue of Apostolic Succession if there are people in each group that cater to postmodernists? What is the Point of Catholics and Orthodox debating the Filioque if each side has some people advancing postmodernists agendas? The liberal tendencies in Greece prove the Orthodox no longer have cultural sway, so too can it be said for various Latinamerican countries that have abandoned their Christian principles for postmodernism. I usually don't rant on RU-vid much, but this issue is very dear to me and can not be solved with retreatism and radical reactionary movements. It also can't be solved by pandering to postmodernist agendas. The solution has to be nuanced, revolutionary, and thorough. Step 1 Get rid of liberalism in all Churches and Traditions of Christianity Step 2 Get involved in the World Step 3 Get involed in Academia and Pop Culture Step 4 Change the Culture Step 5 Get involved in Politics Step 6 Change Politics Step 7 Enter into Ecumenical dialogue with each other Step 8 Have the humility to accept mistakes and errors Step 9 Unite Step 10 Stomp out any ideas that run contrary to the Christian Worldview (if this one sounds too radical, guess what they are doing to all our Christian brethren in this new secular world? Our religion is being expunged from the university halls, our ideas are being erased from the cultural zeitgeist, and cartoonish depictions of our faith have become the go-to propaganda against us. However, stomping out need not mean this mean-spirited abolition of competition, nor should it be re recreated in the image of the Inquisition. Rather a loving yet stern rebuke of ideologies is necessary to prevent Christians from losing any territory)
The one making the query asks not for the purpose of seeking an answer, but rather to attack a truth which they willingly desire to be ignorant of by reason of their intrinsic hostility to it.
It takes a significant investment of time to get through even one of his books. I read the Mortification of Sin at least 8 times and it serves as a great spiritual blessing in my life.

The Presbyterian Conflict by Edwin H. Rain is a very eye opening read about the formation of Westminister. And how the Liberals we’re trying to dismantle the foundation of the gospel with liberalism. Praise God for all the men who stood for truth!

According to the videos and also in the writing of Piper it is clear that Piper adds to justifying faith love and affections this would sadly go against the Reformation Confession (the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity) in which these confessional summaries of Scripture state that justifying faith is one that receives, rests, and trusts in Christ alone. So faith is an instrument a beggarly hand the receives the perfect, spotless righteousness credited to the sinners account. Love and affections are important yet they do not add to justifying faith, but are consequence or effect of justifying faith. This is crucial difference. Piper may not be wrong. Piper knows well that salvation is through faith alone. From my understanding, Piper is like James' perspective that faith without works is dead. In other words, you will have the true love if you have the true faith (cf. 1John 3:14, 5:1). On the other hand, Fesko is saying that you can't have the works or love as the proof of faith. There is no contradiction. Then, Dr. Guy Waters is trying to point out the difference and the logical order. Love is the fruit, and faith is before love. In other words, the Holy Spirit uses faith as the instrument to bear the fruit of love through God's word in our hearts.
I don't think he explicitly denied the resurrection, but going through the text it's more a case of him saying that it isn't sure. It's the words play modern theologians love to perform. They tell you one thing, but then slide with meanings over time. It's organized, educated, sophisticated unbelief quite in line with the second part of Romans 1. But it seems people are reading Bonhoeffer or the texts left with pink glasses, because he is something like a martyr and saint of modern Protestantism. Meanwhile the biography was also rather different than alleged. E.g. the reasons why he was arrested. His motivations in the confessing church and why he was hateful to National Socialism (this goes further then policy issues or religious objections). He for sure wasn't the only theologian of that type. There's good reason why the Protestant Church in Germany has shrunken more than half since WW2.
