This is awesome! Can you define individual letter spacing and line spacing as the type scales? For example, if a headline is larger it requires less letter spacing than a smaller headline.
Thank you for your tips. I've found that right from the beginning we must knowing who will used our fonts, because not all fonts created for all audiences. Then go from there.
some of the positives I find with the limitations is making fonts is pretty fun. It's possible to colour in fonts in some game engines, and you can have the fonts look really good and maybe change them up. I guess you can manipulate the images/ sprites to make them change. Never really thought about fonts too deeply. I guess it could be an interesting thing to tackle. I don't wish for the limitations to be lost out to time but for the limitations to be used as an extension for greater ideas. Maybe more unique fonts could be generated
This guy is a total shyster and if this project was a purely commercial venture he would have been sued by now. This is not the original character set that was first presented in this video. If you look back at previous presentation, it has been regularly evolved considerably since this time. This is a continuing attempt to claim ownership over previously copyrighted letterforms from another type design project ATF was invited to help finesse, but was kicked from the project due to lack of experience in typeface production. ATF since leveraged these unique letterforms across numerous projects, without proper legal consequence. If this typeface represents a nation it is as its coloniser, frequently distorting historical precedence for its own gain.
