Some fool here just posted a video claiming the 1955 Chevrolet was the car that put America on wheels!!!!!! Some people never learn.

“Everyone has their own point of view and interpretation of history. The 1955 Chevrolet was truly an icon in American automotive history, but it was not the only one that helped put America on wheels. Henry Ford and his Model T had a huge impact in making cars accessible to the masses. They both played an important role In the history of American automobiles.

@@Engine23 The '55 Chevrolet had nothing whatever to do with putting America on wheels. The '55 Chevrolet was General Motors' version of the 1949 Ford. Like most GM cars, it followed Ford's lead, but took them six years. Comparing a '55 Chev to a Model T shows a lack of automotive sophistication at best. It was a landmark achievement for GM but beyond that, it was no different from any other garden variety 1955 car. The Model T was the only car America could buy affordably and lasted for many years before the slightest competitor came along. Even the first Chevrolets were no competition for the Ford Model T.

You don't know EVs if are lower emissions than internal combustion engine cars? From the beginning of an EV manufactured, throughout its use, until it's battery expires and it's dumped in a landfill. How environmentally friendly was it? A 20 year old ICE car is greener than a Tesla. The Tesla car will expire before it's 10 years old, then it must be replaced requiring more energy to make a new car. The Tesla is charged with electricity made from carbon fuel at the power plant. ICE cars are better for the environment in so many ways. Don't believe what government fake science says.

“Thank you for sharing your perspective. There are many factors that affect the environmental impact of electric vehicles (EVs) compared to internal combustion vehicles (ICE). It is true that producing batteries and using electricity from non-renewable sources can have an environmental impact, but many studies indicate “Electric cars remain less harmful to the environment in the long term, especially if the electricity comes from clean sources, and as technology advances, the efficiency and recycling of batteries is constantly improving. It is good to be aware of all aspects and strive to use energy sustainably.”

@@Engine23 ~ For EVs to work there will have to be enough charging infrastructure that doesn't exist at this time. This will require more charging stations and they will require more energy to be generated. Solar and wind power are not as reliable or as cheap as coal, this is why China and India build coal powered plants and burn the majority of the coal in the world. EVs are not green, not energy efficient and cannot compare to petrol and diesel vehicles for practicality, reliability and versatility. The only reason to change to EVs is to control people's freedom of movement.

My grandfather worked 35 years as a machinist for Ford Mo Co, from the 1920s into the 1960s, he said Henry Ford was a great and a good man. Most people back in those days agreed with my Grandfather. People today should not judge Ford using 2024s mainstream PC standards, makes no sense. We have no concept of who Ford was and what he accomplished. ~ Henry Ford was born in 1863, he built the largest, most modern manufacturing company in the world in his day. Henry Ford was a great man and should be remembered for his greatness in our day.

"Thanks for sharing this story about your grandfather and his experience with Henry Ford. Undoubtedly, Henry Ford was a prominent figure in the development of modern industry and the revolution in how cars are manufactured. Our appreciation for historical achievements should take into account the historical context of that period. Henry Ford left an indelible impact on the industry.😍

Henry Ford was one of the most famous heroes and industrialists in the history of mankind. He perfected the automobile, the assembly line, invented charcoal and pioneered many improvements which have become automotive mainstays. Eventually, old age began to get the better of him. His company had been losing money for years before his death and it took the heroic efforts of Henry Ford II to turn the company around. Today, Ford is the largest producer of automobiles the world over. Ford is also the only American car producer who has never asked for a government bailout. Their cars better those of Chrysler and GM by miles.

This is a great comment and gives an excellent overview of Henry Ford's influence on the automobile industry. Here is an appropriate response: “Thanks for this valuable information! Henry Ford was truly an industry pioneer and revolutionized how automobiles were produced, making them accessible to many people. It is exciting to see how Ford has evolved over the decades to become one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world. “This commitment to innovation and quality is what makes Ford stand out even today.”@@lancasterritzyescargotdine2602

Will probably end up as a series of niche market segments with a large number of EV manufacturers going out of business.

Pretty much what was said at the dawn of the auto era. This is how any disruptive technology grows in the market place. I.e., duh.

EVS are heavy create much more particulate matter from the tires causes much more cancer and also destroys the roads and cost you much more money in tires. They also kill children as the battery's are exported to third world county's to be recycled by children. Also children mine the cobalt and lithium for the battery's and are murdered this way. Insurance is massive, costs more to run as electricity is more expensive. No reason to buy an EV as they are environmentally destructive, much more than a ICE/Petrol car. Buildings are banning them to be parked in them as if they catch fore they destroy the whole building as it takes tonnes of water to even allow them to be removed and not put out even. China has the most evs in the world 13 million and all powered by coal power stations. EVs are nothing but a scam for the rich and stupid.

To provide an appropriate response to comments on images that will force the commenter to respond, you can use the following method: --- I see you have some interesting points about electric vehicles (EVs). Let's discuss some things in more detail: 1. **Insurance and operational costs**: It is known that insurance for electric cars may be higher in some cases due to the cost of batteries, but it compensates for this with lower maintenance and fuel costs. Do you have a comprehensive comparison of the insurance and operating costs of electric cars compared to conventional cars? 2. **Environmental Impact**: You mentioned that electric cars are more environmentally destructive than traditional fuel cars. How do you explain that so many independent scientific studies confirm that electric cars reduce carbon emissions significantly over their full life cycle compared to conventional cars? Can you share a source for your study? 3. **Social and Economic Problems**: The points you made regarding the exploitation of children in mining minerals necessary for batteries is a serious issue indeed. However, there are increasing efforts by automakers to ensure sustainable and ethical sourcing of minerals. Do you think we should boycott electric cars completely or work to improve conditions in mining areas? 4. **China and Fossil Fuels**: It is true that many electric cars in China run on electricity produced from coal, but there are great efforts to convert energy sources to renewable and clean ones. What do you think of these efforts, and do you think the solution lies in continuing to use fossil fuels or gradually moving towards clean energy? I look forward to discussing this topic in more depth with you. The more information we discuss, the better we can understand optimal solutions.
