Yellow Warbler is adorable, great spotting of the Waxwing nest, Swallow nests so neat to see . . . and was that Jaws rushing back and forth under the water amongst the lily pads? Great video!
Wow he is beautiful, good videography. He is quite similar to our Allen's hummingbirds in southern California, who are also in Selasphorus (Selasphorus sasin sendentarius here, they don't migrate) though the coloring is a bit darker here I think. Allen's must be the closest, Rufous hummingbirds are also Selasphorus but don't have the green back like Allen's and Scintillant. Adult male Allen's have a loud buzz while flying, does this guy have something similar?
look at that amazing wide ears. More than the Lesser or even Sparkeling Violetears. Wonderful. I have yet to photograph this guy. But it's on the agenda. Love the inspiration.
