Music is one of the most important parts of my life. it represents sharing, inner force and developement, joy and always something interesting to LEARN.
Bonne continuation.
thing about Handel's operas is it's often difficult to tell the girls from the boys....... lesson for our times probably. What's left is human emotion being expressed. But then one still asks, is it a woman singing the song? Or a man? Take your pick. This art is a total critter of the IMAGINATION......... Anyway, thanks to Ms. Rewerski for this incredible performance........
This piece was composed in 1711. This year was a important moment in my country, Catalonia. While Haendel was writting on his amuzing music my antecesors was fighting against the tyrany against the absolutism against the French Bourbon, and after three years they lost. I'm explaing this because I consider that Handel was a man of his time and I would like to know that his music represented his time too. For that reason, I like to imagine a little boy listen to "Cara Sposa" and forgetting his terrible situation because of the amuzing music of Handel. Thanks!!!
I hear a Bassoon and Archileuto in this performance. Collegium 1704 delivers the goods as their custom. The singer is wonderful.... I much prefer her voice and delivery over a male soprano.
