@@catdaddy7982 no. At least I wouldn’t. you have to learn the melody, and really know it. Then, in my opinion, you have to know the form, know the chords in that form, and be able to play or sing the chords. Then from there, you embellish the melody - within the context of all the parts. I have some other videos that talk about this on my channel and also I wrote about about it in my book “Go For It.” Has its own chapter 🙂
@@NoraGermain But you center around the guide tones right? Play one of the tones of the next chord. The melody will be in the chord, but maybe choose a different chord tone? Or the scale tone up that resolves into the chord tone? Are you hitting the chord tones on the one beat?

Hi Nora! I'm a Bluegrass fiddler and I have been following your music for the past few years. Congratulations on the publishing of this book! I'm definitely going to check it out and maybe send it to some friends of mine. One of my favorite books that seems to share a similar ethos is "the music lesson" by Victor Wooten.
