Welcome to my channel, where it's vintage stuff all the time! My passion is spreading the wonders of vintage entertainment to others, whether it's music, film, or radio. For those who want to get into old music, I want to save you time searching by presenting what I consider to be the best songs from different eras of recorded music. But copyright issues are interfering with this at the moment :(
I'm also very interested in old movies and old radio programs, so I've made a number of videos about those as well. I hope you find something you like on my channel!
I remember WHEN I WAS IN POSTOM JUST OUTSIDE BERLIN, WHAT A MESS THAT PLACE WAS, STILL SMELLING THE DEAD OF CIVILIANS AND STILL SMELLING FLESH OF HUMANS. EVERY STREET FEEL GOOSEBUMPS AND CREEPY AS FK. I END UP SLEEPING OUTSIDE OF A OLS CEMETERY NOT KNOWING I WAS IN IT BECAUSE OF THE DESTRUCTION AROUND
The High Allied Command and the staff at Bletchley Park must have been elated that their ruses and efforts at secrecy had worked out, and that Hitler had gone to bed with the bug and stayed there, making Rommel furious….somehow he knew “the place” would be Normandy. Meanwhile, my father (a Marine of the 4th Amphibious Corps and in charge of an amtrac) was preparing for the invasion of Saipan about a month later. What an absolutely horrific time.
I remember when I was 10-13 yrs old in 1945 listings WITH Mom's radio news IN THE 🌧️ RAINING EVENINGS IN GARDEN CITY KANSAS, NOW I'M 89 AND IT FEELS LIKE JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY MORNING THAT I WAS LISTENING TO THIS WORLD NEWS.
I remember long long time ago in 1982 my grandpa was a Gunner under the belly of a B-27 AND HE TOLD ME ONE TIME HOW EASY WE GOT IT NOWDAYS, HE SAID HE WAS FACING DOWN IN HIS ENTIRE BODY FOR 4-6 HRS MISSION OVER EUROPE AND SAW A FEW OF HIS CAMARAD SHOT DOWN IN THE BORDER BELGIUM/Germany. He had flashbacks at the end of his life when he was in his 70s, I feel bad for all those who saw some F. UP SH..T!!
My favorite character brought me here! I came here to understand how he lived his life in 1930's and the peak of the radio. Thank you for this uploader
Gotta love how media sparks interest and curiosity in us younger generations to see what our elders saw. Or heard. (Cough cough HAZBIN cough ALASTOR cough)
Choosing to go to the moon WAS NOT Kennedy's idea or motivation... NASA had already planned to go to the moon under the Eisenhower Administration. It was just a matter of when. When Kennedy came into office, he asked his advisors at NASA what America could do to beat the Russians and Warner Von Braun said and I quote "If America can commit itself, I believe we could get to the moon by 1968" Kennedy took that Idea and ran with it in his speeches... electing to say "by the end of the decade" instead of saying "1968" Going to the moon and doing it by the 1968 (which we did with Apollo 8) was not Kennedy's Idea.
Of course these are mostly US radio. References are mostly to us snd little or no mentionof the allied army airforce or navy. Sustralians were familiar with so called foreign broadcasts. All faked. Theatrical performances with background wireless
As a fan of baseball history, I clicked on this to hear Leo Durocher and enjoyed what he had to say. I also enjoyed the way the hosts did the advertisements, making them seem almost like they were part of the conversation.
