Great video! We are really considering moving to the Carolinas. We have family in Ft. Mill and would like to move near that area. We are looking to buy a home with land and access to the mountains for hiking and off road trails. York has been on our map and looking more appealing. Coming from Orlando, FL, i will take 2 months of oppressive summer weather. Its better than dealing with it for 8 months of the year. Thabk you for the video!
Big cities tend to have higher crime and expenses, that's true. I always recommend people check crime maps before deciding. And we are certainly seeing urban sprawl happening!! :) Thank you for watching!
Yes crime is skyrocketing mostly due to liberal policies. Compare crime rates per 1000 people with that of other large cities and you will see what I mean. Recently 4 cops lost their lives in a gun battle inside the city. Another con is crazy and rude drivers-traffic laws are rarely enforced for lack of resources. Also, if you choose the wrong spot(s) to buy, airplane noises will drive you crazy as CLT airport is growing non stop. Finally, if most people are transplants, you can't have southern hospitality. How do you have both?
@CosmicLab167 Charlotte is way overpriced. I don't even bother dining out in Charlotte, I may go to a few of the stores there, but that's about it. But I can honestly say I do have a little bit of the best of both worlds. Not too far from anything happening, not too far from the rural areas. The police are pretty awesome so long as you stay on their good side. Honestly, Charlotte isn't as good as it's cracked up to be. The last time I was there someone just had a shootout with the cops.
If you want people with ADD/ADHD to be able to watch your videos, please remove that moving frame. Tried paying attention but all I was able to focus on was the frame. I bet it was great content but could not pay attention

Stanley is great! A bit more rural than some other Charlotte suburbs, but beautiful area with great proximity to Lake Norman. Plus, you're still relatively close to Uptown and the airport.

Both Novant and Atrium have phenomenal healthcare options throughout the region. In most of the neighboring suburbs, you'll find a hospital or emergency room within a short drive. In Midtown Medical Plaza, you would find the Novant Health Pulmonary and Critical Care Facility, which may be a possible option for you.

I really want a single family home, but even grossing nearly $100k, it would be a stretch. I might settle for a townhome, but I am worried about the noise with the shared walls.
Depending on your debt to income ratio, you may still be able to make it work with single family detached. Or, if you have to go townhome, you can look for one that is an end unit so there's just the one shared wall. Either way, I'd love to help with your home search. At 10:45, you mention that Charlotte residents need to earn $62k annually to afford the "starter home" priced at $235,000. How many homes are priced at $235,000 in the Charlotte area? I see ten on the market right now, I would consider none of them "move in ready." The homes I'm seeing are going for $350k+ (move in ready)
