The amount of risk/danger is totally up to the rider and his/her skills. You can ride slow and mellow spots with minimal risk, or go big and fast with increased risk. You certainly would not want be out there trying to ride like the freebord jedi in this video on day one...or maybe ever, but you could certainly enjoy the sport without huge risk if you want.
@@freebord 1000 being shown exactly what to do and how to do it and practise with the person many many times ie a friend or coach . But yes.. I’ve been longboarding and freeboarding for a while . I’ve picked it up fast
@@brandonfitzgerald5352 personnaly I recommend to open the footstrap atthe top (close to 15-15 on a Snowboard) so it's very open to ride Switch like you ride normal
@@freebord right on I have the foot straps at a neutral position. But I have my rear truck set up to match the surface of the road I am riding...when I go to ride switch the front truck is either to loose or tight...and when I adjust it either way it becomes to loose or tight in the front when I ride normal...so I have just given up trying switch all together and wait for snow to get some switch riding in
It shows how simple minded the world is actually...and those of us who have taken the leap can just appreciate it more and feel more happy about what we know to be the source of bliss. I know that doesn't help freebord as a business, but in many ways I think freebord is meant to be for freeborders, not for "them" ...and freeborders will likely always find a way to freebord. No matter the cost.
@@flisms sounds like a typical Communist...we like doing things TOGETHER...luge and long mix well...so would long and free....so with all due respect...from the USA... FUCK YOU
Ok, I know I' might get crap for saying this but I think this is a bit like easy mode where dh longboarding is the hard mode. It's still quite cool and a nice video anyways.
Thanks for your feedback! But it's definitely 2 different sport, 2 different feelings. Longboarders go fast and slides before corners. Riding a freeboard is about to show style, tricks, spins, slides, ride like a snowboard! And we can also ride on rails / gaps, freestyle... that we don't see much on the longboard. The freeboard experience is about training your snowboard skills.
I feel lucky to have survived losing my brakes TWICE at the bottom of Old Priest Grade Road, in two different cars, and despite downshifting and pumping the brakes. (This was before ABS.) I hate taking the longer new road, but although I continue to drive UP Old Priest Grade, I'll never drive down the old road again. It's a steep SOB!
Make the trucks rounded, how you gonna grind with this square truck axl .. sooner or later you gonna notice the red curb behind you and I think when you try to do a grind with this square trucks you're gonna need helmet for it 😄 .
