Huh I hadnt thought about making the face its own premade texture that matches with the audio and just loading it to the model, had only been thinking about complicated face rigs. How do you feel about the method you used? Would you do that again for a longer project, or bite the bullet and make a rig?
I personally prefer it this way. Mainly because it's how I've been making character animations for years in after effects so I'm used to the workflow. Also means I can just animate/block out in the viewport shading view without needing to see the faces, which is much quicker for my ancient macbook ha! But there is a paid add-on called mecaface which people use all the time from blenderbricks which seem to be the best pre-made face rig.
Yo Elliano, I just don't understand how I can fix this. Everything looks good before uploading it to Mixamo but after downloading it my eyebrows and facial hair are just not there or not looking as they should. I'm trying to fix this for a few days now but it's not going to well xD.
Hey on mecabricks when i export a minifigure to blender (using a blender zmbx file) and then I go to blender and press import, mecabricks doesn't appeal on the list so I can't upload anything to blender. Does anyone know why or know a fix? Thank u
That's actually a really good suggestion, I guess I just prefer the control of each individual mouth shapes when doing it manually. As sometimes, character animator would be a little unreliable whenever I used it in the past.
@@Elliano_motion Hmmm. It always works really well for me when using solely audio, although it's less effective if you have video - it tends to lag and look wrong.
Oh really? Does the rest of the rig work? I think I did this tutorial with either version 3.4 or 3.6. If I find an alternative I'll leave a pinned comment on here. Overall principle should remain the same with another add-on.
Thanks! Best way would be to animate at 12fps/ animate on 2's. I'd also say find some clips of The Lego Movie's for reference, doesn't have to be the same character moment, just analyse how the movements are done within a certain time frame 🙂
I have seen your clips and have come to appreciate it even more now that I know the amount of work gone into each one of it. Really inspired. So much so, that I want to attempt it on a goal video of a goal in our local league here in South Africa. It does look like it will take a lot of time though, but I can't wait to get started. Thanks so much for this tutorial
