Thank you for this video guys. I know it’s two years old, but I was considering buying these waders now. Any other thoughts after two more years of use? Liked and subscribed
I came across this video to figure out what I saw. I live in East Orange County between Bithlo and UCF. I wake uo around 4:30 so I can ride my bicycle for 30 minutes in my subdivision before work. I often see pockets of deer. Very chill, no big deal, super low key and mostly they are sleeping or grazing. Recently I have seen deers with antlers which I have seen rarley since I was a kid as I lived out here since I was a kid in the late 80s. I few days ago I saw the biggest deer I have ever seen in my life. I am only 5'8 but when I am riding my bicycle I am a few inches higher and my eye level is higher then when I am standing flat footed. Halfway through my ride I am riding at a pace of about 15 mph on a straight away in the neighborhood. Amber street lights, cars parked on both side of the road and about 50 yards ahead I see a Giant deer, He saw me before I saw him and he was looking straight at me with the most horns I have ever seen on a deer. I ride with a front :LED light and when I saw him he was crossing the road but looking at me and when I saw him I stopped peddleing and started coasting. As I stopped peddaling and start coasting my freewheels makes a spinning noise. Once that happened the deer kept his head and eyes looking at me but changed his body stance to turn and face me head on. Once I saw him I realized this deer was seasoned and was ready for something. I can normally keep on my path when A deer notices me it starts to get out of the way but this guy moved his head up and I was getting closed maybe 30 yards away. I started to come up with a game plan to pivot my bicycle as to dodge because this wasn't a deer I have ever seen. Normally the deer I see are tan or light brown but this deer seems to be a grey color and almsot had shaggy fur. As I got closer I didn't hit the brakes but was aiming to my right to hit the sidewalk beacsue this deer wasn't gonna move. As I veered to my right to hit the sidewalk the deer in fromt of me kept looking at me, turned his body towards the other side of the road and did like two gallops before he hit a front yard of a house by the mailbox. By the time his two from legs got to where the sidewalk was he leaped up in the air, which looks liek it too some effort, but he cleared the side walk and landed and took one step into the grass alley between two houses. and then he stopped and turned his head around backward to see me pass. I have a lot of family from up north and they have always talked smack about the deer down here, but this one was different. It was awesome. In the oast wek I have still been on my early morning bicycle rides and have seen one other deer thats is not as tall and has a smaller set of antlers. Just trying to learn more about these deers and wanted to share. Thanks for all the info. coming from the 32826 zip code of Florida.
Yes we all pay to keep these “ wild areas wild” I agree. Change your direction. “ if you already have a set” if it is your only set, you should have 2 approaches. And you should work on having 3 spots to hunt. The last being a “spot and stalk”.
The only problem I see is if the madrock fails and you’re falling while tending your auto block wouldn’t you continue tending the knot all the way to the ground? Unless you were to let go of the knot tender I don’t see how it would save you
Thanks for the video with the different systems. I made a diy HYS strap with amsteel daisy chain instead of the nylon straps. Super light weight and packable
I appreciate the videos. I’m new to Florida. I’ve never hunted a state like Florida before. No stranger to hunting though. Learned a lot about the area from your videos.
Congratulations! That spot and stalk looks like a blast. Well done pushing through it to get your deer. I got denied all my wma applications this year. Corbett it is.
@@SwampNStomp pretty sure I saw you pulling in with the bike to do some scouting. The weekend that Debbie brushed us. Good luck out there! Any spot and stalk training days coming up? I would love to jump on that
Screw all these haters in this chat. SFL hunting is already hard enough. All the kids think someone is going to let them walk on public land. I used to feel that way and would pass on the 4s and small 6s, then I’d bump into people at the check out with the same 4s or 6s I’d pass. Enjoy the woods and keep doing your thing S and S!!! Fun to watch.
At 13 minutes I noticed a well-maintained barbed-wire fence. Was this a WMA or a private cattle ranch? Also, tell us more about those waterproof socks.
I grew up hunting South Florida, most wma's are leased for cows. In my experience the hunting is better where cows keep the brush and grass in check. A lot of that grass would be 7ft tall and the woods would be so dense it's very hard to hunt. And the land is often just healthier it seems when cows are involved.
Obviously I have nothing to do with FL Camo, but I own about $1500 worth of first lite, my FL CAMO is still my favorite. Hands down, the most comfy shit you'll wear. It's literally like hunting In pajamas!!!
@@ADVENTURESOFBZ dude pajamas are less comfortable! And yea I have some first lite stuff too. It’s great. But FL camo is unbeatable for these hot temps. -Mark
I honestly never doubted that we would find it. I’ve always been good about backing out and getting a dog if I doubt the blood trail. It’s important to leave your ego behind when assessing the hit. I knew that arrow went into the body cavity , and with the hit behind low and in the front of the cavity i knew I got lungs or heart, or a brisket shot. So it was like that deer was either dead in seconds or he wouldn’t die so I felt confident going after it right away with the dog. If I thought for a second that that arrow missed lungs, I would have simply Given it more time. Thanks for watching! -Mark
Arrows pull out easily. Yes you could use broadheads but it will chew up the target faster for obvious reasons. You could use for a crossbow but I would not cut the sheets in half so you have more depth to stop those ultrafast bolts. -Mark
@@anthonylosi5887 you don’t get the point of the video. I do one stick. I love it. This was just simply to show that if you are an SRT climber, you can still get up a tree even if you don’t have a limb to throw your ball over. It’s definitely not meant to be a main climbing method. -Mark
@@SwampNStomp ten 4, makes sense. Looks terrible though lol. Where there is a will there is a way I guess. Glad I chose the one stick route a few years ago. Good luck out there 🤙🏻
@@SwampNStomp That's great. Looks like a ranch. You guys must apply for a bunch and also do guest hunts I assume. FLA quotas have gotten hard to get for residents. FWC wants more revenues from out of state hunters. I confirmed this quota algorithm with Ronnie Bergeron however FWC won't ever admit it. It's all about the almighty dollar...
