As an islander I think this is a great idea. The Mi'kmaq have a beautiful past and all islanders should learn of their history. I was lucky as a kid to visit Lennox island and learn about their stories. Always cherished it abd will forever be with me.
As a PEI and Atlantic Canada based Producer/Director/Cinematographer for Square Deal Productions and Editor of Pituamkek I am incredibly proud of the great work of our crew, drone operator, and the wonderful heartfelt interviews given by our cast. What a truly unique and precious area Pituamkek is and it's fantastic our combined efforts and creative talents to make this film helped realize the dream of seeing this area preserved as a pristine Mi'kmaq heritage landscape forever more! Released in 2021, the film has been celebrated by 10 prestigious international film festivals, and was twice Nominated for Best Short Documentary. Enjoy!
Mam, our cooking methods are the same ??? How else do you bring people to the table... 🤔Bone broth, chicken stock even turkey gravy. You need a stock Pot, you don't waste the peels of the Carrots, the Onions & not even the bones.
Elderberries, which we used to enjoy & pick freely now Cost $9.99 for a 20z Container. I only hope my friend Dave Champlin keeps up the good fight. I never got sick when I was a child, but mother nature provided us some of the best medicines...
These islands are unique and can’t wait to see them all one protected area. Will make a wonderful kayak trip to see and experience. Very well shot video and the history and informative well put.
@18:56 that's when you lost me. I am Mi'kmaq by blood, and these Government idiots are digging up my ancestor's items, and bringing them to a random museum... How about you put it in a museum ON Pituamkek or Hog Island?!?! That way when I come to visit my ancestral lands, I can actually see my bloodline's items, instead going to a random museum in the middle of Canada, yeah they're thieves.
