I’m a Swiss-Filipino performing artist, voice actor, children’s entertainer and all around creative. I love documenting my memories of this time in my life and spreading good vibes!
yay thanks for watching! Yeah it was definitely not fun dealing with it on a cruise because I wasn't able to care for it properly. But I'm so glad I've been able to fix it for the most part! Were you able to get the proper care for yours?
hello, hello! I have gotten so many questions on where I'm going next and my answer may surprise you. Have you ever had to make a difficult life choice? How did you deal with it?
Hi there!!! Enjoying watching your videos.. thanks for helpful advices, I'm newly hired on DCL and so excited to join next month in Fantasy.. i wanted to also to do some of my content on board but I don't know if we are allowed to do it onboard. Anyway.. I'm looking forward on my first contract on Disney 😊.
Oh yay! How exciting! Enjoy your time onboard. I do believe it's a bit difficult to showcase what you do onboard without breaking some rules so just enjoy your time and take lots of pictures/videos for the memories!
Everyone's process is different and varies depending on where you're from, your position onboard and all sorts of visa processes. So it's hard to say! For me, from the audition to receiving my contract was 3 months.
I’m in consideration for a guest service job for DCL. Do you knowing about this role? Privileges and cabin info? I’m currently guest relations at Disney World and will be transferring for hopefully 2 contracts before returning back to WDW
Thank you so much for such an inspiring and positive message. While going through a hard season health wise, this video definitely brightened my day and gave me much hope that dreams do come true. Wishing you the best. 💗 P.S. I just subscribed to your adventures.
Yay! I'm so glad to hear my video brightened your day. I just posted a new video where I discuss some health complications as well, so I can understand how frustrating it is. Hang in there! You're amazing!❤️
Hi. Thank you for sharing this. I definitely believe the experience for an entertainer is a lot better on an oceanic cruise line rather than a river one. I'm from Europe and just got an offer for a river cruise as an Entertainment host, however river boats are really tiny, space is even more crammed than on an oceanic one for staff, and a lot more noise at night due to the ship passing through locks. Even guests cannot sleep. Team is too small to make friends within your department. And at least in my case the company that operates the cruise lines has some of the worst reviews I ever read (for ex, people showing up for breakfast and being gone by lunch...they quit the same day they arrive due to poor management and apparently food being inedible). Long story short, always also check the reviews for Any company that makes you an offer and stick to oceanic cruises.
Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Yeah, I definitely can't speak for river cruises or other cruise lines. I've only worked for one company! Best of luck to you in the future!
@@LittleGeri thank you; honestly I stuck to entertainment in resorts on land, I find it more humane ...food at the guests restaurant and single room are much better than what a cruise line can offer to entertainers...less money...but at least I feel like a human being
Watching this video was SO helpful and very informative to watch. Thank you so much for being so honest! I have my DCL interview this week and am nervous but prepared. Do you know if photographers get the same incentives as the entertainment staff? I have researched a lot about DCL photographers but there's not a whole lot out there. Much love <3
Sorry for the late reply! My fiancé is a photographer so I do know a lot about that department. I hope your interview went well. Feel free to message me on instagram!
Hey! I really want to work on a Disney cruise ship during my gap year, I do Drama A-Level and have experience acting but I'm worried because I will only be 18/19 I won't get hired? Do you have any tips!! :)))
DCL hires a lot of young performers because it can be a job that requires a lot of stamina. Get as much acting and dance experience as you can! And keep auditioning! You learn so much from auditions. Break a leg!
I worked my first cruise contract last year. Met so many amazing people and even fell in love. Everything you said in this video is SO REAL. I have an interview next week with DCL. Nervous about going back to ship life but it REALLY is a crazy experience in the best ways
ALSO I TOTALLY RELATE to the not wanting to run to the aft of the shift for the meal during a quick break. Especially when I did cruise staff work and it’s like…. I’m not trying to host this game show bloated 😂
I was wondering when your contract is done is there a specific amount of time you have to wait before you can get another contract and does it have to be with the same cruise line
@@Phoebe-vv2gd it varies. Sometimes it depends on what your exit review says. I chose not to go back to my last ship when I was done, but they knew that.
Finally getting a chance to watch!! I can't believe how long it's been since your first contract. It feels like yesterday! I'm so happy for you and all you've experienced (and found) <3
Hi, Gerri! This is my dream!! I currently work as an Activities Coordinator at a Senior Living Facility in Texas and would love any tips/advice you have when it comes to joining the Entertainment Team and making magic aboard Disney Cruise Line! Our stories are so similar and I've always wanted to along with have been told that I need to work for Disney one day. I don't have a degree, but I have 16 years of theatre experience and 2 years of film experience. I'll be a certified Activities Professional, hopefully, within the next year or two as well! Any advice would be beyond appreciated!
That's so exciting! Have you had an interview yet? Definitely always keep an eye out for auditions on their website! You sound like you have a great background for it!
Hi Geri!! Not me crying about all the goodbyes when someone's contract is ending. Or when OURS does.🥺 Happy to come across your videos, and hope to see you on a contract or on land in the future!💗
Was it really really difficult to find any wifi and time to speak to family/friends? I call my friends every single day and I get so anxious about not having that anymore haha
All of your videos are so perfect, full of life and happiness. I'm really enjoying watching every single one of them. Can't wait to join Disney soon. 🎉
You just showed up in my feed!! I LOVE that you got to work the Dream. I was actually the very first person in the world to go back onboard after we commissioned it in Germany when we mounted “Believe”. We got to live on board while it was being finished in Bremerhaven. SO many wonderful memories :-) lol… From the pictures, I’m guessing that you’re friends with my boss. Keep up the wonderful work!
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing that - so cool! I love the Dream because it was my very first ship. I love working with Mickey and all his friends. Such a special time I'll cherish forever!
Hi Geri! You are amazing and so talented. Our family will be on the Wish this Christmas and are so excited! Keep up the great work - your videos are so fun and inspiring!
Hi Geri! Been following along on your adventures here and instagram! Love hearing your story and your persistence and positivity is truly contagious! We are a big Disney family (our son is named Walter after Walt Disney himself) and we have recently fallen in love with Disney cruising after doing the DVC inaugural sailing on the Wish. Our next sailing is on the Dream in March. Would love to meet you and your fiancé someday on the ships! Thanks for bringing magic to so many! Keep being you and following your dreams! 💫
Awww, thank you for commenting! This truly made my day! That is such a special name for your son. I hope you have a wonderful time on the Disney Dream! That's my first ship and where I met my fiancé so it's very special to me. Up next I'm headed back to the Wish! All the best to you and your family!✨
idk was just digging your personality and how much joy being around ppl brings you and performing. :) ♥ I don't know very many Aquarians, and just thought what they'd be like. (: My husband & I are about to go on our very 1st cruise EVER on DCL Wish tomorrow!!! [10/20/23] to the Bahamas & CAC! We're very excited for this adventure! @@LittleGeri
I thought it was super fun and informative! I love swimming so it was great to learn some survival techniques and how to flip a life raft in case it doesn't inflate!
I work in entertainment so that covers lots of things! I dance in some of the shows, perform in the kids clubs and help out with setting up character meet & greets!
I honestly try not to get too bogged down when things don't go as planned. I just try to pivot and put my energy elsewhere. Things will usually work out better that way! A lot of life as a performer is rejection so we gotta find ways to keep chasing other things that excite us!
I can’t even begin to express how helpful these videos about DCL have been! I’m starting as a Youth Activities Counselor soon. If you have to time to make a video about what you packed to create storage and decor that would be so helpful to get specifics. I am worrying about little things like where I am going to put all my hair products (curly hair problems) and how I can store my clothes. I just want to be a good roommate but still be as comfortable as possible! Side note-you were definitely meant to work for Disney! They’re so lucky to have you, you radiate Disney magic😊
Oh wow that's so exciting! Congratulations! I plan on making a storage and decoration video once I'm on the ship but that will be a while away. My cruise ship essentials video covers some decor and storage ideas! Thank you for your kind words - you're very sweet and I wish you all the best!
