Love this! I only wish the counter melody was a little bit louder. It’s almost sort of a callback to the original version with Barry McGuire.. in that version they were actually backing vocals, but they were brought closer to the forefront for the M&P version, becoming a counter melody rather than background vocals.
I love the early stones music, but you can see, from the album covers, and in press interviews, the real leader of the stones was Brian Jones, I think there was a real power struggle there between him and Mick Jagger...and wait, wasn't this the main theme song in the blues brothers?
