Bro it doesn’t help when you don’t play it the same way. It’s like when you watch cheap vs expensive pianos and on the expensive one they play it with a lot more flare it’s like well not how am I supposed to tell?
There are cello obligato parts in some Bach cantatas that were meant to be played on either a violoncello piccolo or a violoncello da spalla (a smaller 5-string “cello” with a strap and is played across the chest.
The better test would be asking people blind to pick the more expensive strings. The cheaper ones are brighter and I bet people would pick that in a lot of cases
I can certainly tell the difference. I’m no expert at strings (my teacher would probably just put them on my violin) but I can tell the difference. The $300 ones sound more soft and the $5 ones sound a little bit scratchy. Thank you for the video!
It’s $289 for the whole set of 4 strings! Yes cello strings are more expensive than violin strings but to be fair cellos need way more metal for the strings
@jtaicello I've personally never bought strings since I play on a school instrument in high school, but I've looked at the viola strings my teacher has recommended me, and they're expensive.
This time I changed my outfit for each level😎 I hope my 10 years level helps people understand what kinds of things I’m thinking about when it comes to making musical decisions!
This is amazing, (I play double bass, but we can still read Cello music) do you think you could share the full sheet? I really want to play songs like this!!
I don't think so, I believe this level of bow technique is possible for all of the stringed instruments! If you take a closer look at the best violinists' bows, you will see a lot of variety of contact points, bow speeds, and bow weights.
