Interesting as my VIA Charger came with KADEE style couplers as did coaches. However, the alternate couplers were taped to packaging of coaches but not for Charger.
Wow - did you film this yourself? I see you went through the wye from Spadina to Upper St. George (the "downtown·eastbound·westbound" platform signs were flashing), but you didn't go through Bay station's lower level. The TTC never liked the wye - the wye's electromechanical automatic train dispatchers held trains that were on schedule at its three exits for interlace sequencing in order to maintain the system's alternating service pattern for subsequent trains heading inbound to its three entrances later on. Do you have more film of this?
@dominicbriganti5710 That was my graduation year, so was only on TTC up to final exams in spring. Delays didn't affect me much as I could choose various route options, like St George, University, College stations all to get to Engineering buildings.
@@migilmor_trains_and_tips In 1966, I think I would have used black and white too. Wasn't color expensive then? It's hard to understand how the TTC was able to abandon the wye after millions had been spent building it.
The UAC TurboTrain was an early high-speed, gas turbine train manufactured by United Aircraft that operated in Canada between 1968 and 1982 and in the United States between 1968 and 1976. It was one of the first gas turbine-powered trains to enter service for passenger traffic, and was also one of the first tilting trains to enter service in North America.
Thats quite amazing how quickly it gets so dark, I'm in Kent in the UK I saw this at the last big eclipse we had here in 1999. I was staggered at how dark it went so quickly then as well.
Thanks for the comment. You know that the town of Ajax is named after H.M.S. Ajax of WWII and the Battle of Plate. During WWII, Ajax didn't exist as it was the location of D.I.L. which produced 25 million shells for British and Canadian forces. 10,000 workers lived in houses and dorms built by DIL and some of those houses still exist today. However, the munitions factory has long gone.
