Thank you for your No offense but top 5 my ass. I can find a dozen of similar mould maker any day in that area. From what I can see from the video if that count as top 5 the Chinese industry future are doomed. Come to my factory I'll show you what a good one actually looks like.
Ive been doing injection molding maintenance for 20+ years now in upstate South Carolina. Mainly tier 1 automotive. Where are the other molders in the comments from?
Hello, dear friend! It's nice to meet you. I am an engineering plastic producer who specializes in modification, color customization, OEM, and ODM collaboration. Our factory is located in China. How can I assist you?
Could I include a few seconds of this footage in a video I am making on the differences between metal and plastic wargame miniatures? I would of course include full credit and a link to the original.
Did 4 years as a mold-setter (easily the most dangerous job I've ever done in 40 yrs+ of working) and a production supervisor in an injection molding factory. Will never step foot in one again. Extremely hot environment due to the barrel temps. on the machines, lots of potentially dangerous situations to navigate (molding department). If you're in finishing or quality, the work is meticulous & boring. I've also done time in those hot, dusty carpet mills in the South, plus about 10 yrs. in an automotive machine shop. Machine shops are hazardous also, but injection molding is the king of dangerous, hot factory work. This video is definitely sugar-coating the real experience. Guaranteed before they were going through the shop floor with cameras, all the workers had been forewarned days ahead of time and the factory had been scrubbed clean by orders of management. We used to do the same thing when Nissan, BMW, or GM was visiting our factory. It was all for show, in order to procure additional projects. Once they left the floor, it was business as usual. Nature of the business.
@@suspicious2delicious I'm going to apply for it, it's a job posting within the company I already work for just in a different department I don't really have any experience in that department but I'm interested, I'm going to try at least the worst thing they can say is no 😂
The best injection machine ever made will not save a badly designed mold. but a skilled hands-on process engineer might. I Did this work for 42 years and I still have all of my fingers.
@@throwedDummy I would say it's easy, some people seem to have problems, but as far as factory work goes its pretty simple. The one I work at isn't quite the same as the one in the video, but you learn techniques as you go, to find what works best for you. For me it seemed difficult for the first week or two, but after I got used to it, most jobs were really simple.
@@throwedDummy this comment was written 6 months ago just wondering you still working there how is it asking because I started the job 2 days ago and its not as easy as it looks
It’s this laborious processing of parts that means China will always be the place for mass production over western worlds, all because is westerners don’t want to pay this labour cost
@@joelpichette not to mention they built the infrastructure to go with it. If your automated line goes down here, can you drive to a market and pick up a spare in just a few hours? Nope, you have to pay a ridiculous price and wait for it to be shipped from somewhere like Mitsumi

What I never understood is why the workers themselves don't buy some basic safety equipment themselves. I don't understand it especially because Chinese culture traditionally values health, so you would think they would be proactive to protect their bodies. Like a lot of these people aren't even wearing safety glasses working around potentially sharp plastics.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj no work labor laws, if something happens to one he'll be replaced in seconds and production would never stop. And also they are payed horribly. If it ain't food, they are probably not going to buy it. America was the same way decades ago but laws have been put in place for their well being and others.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Guessing it's human nature, we rather speed on a highway to get somewhere faster other then being safe for ourselves and others. We rather eat things that harm our health for taste rather then just eat to fill our stomachs with proper nutrients. We like to take the easy and convente route of things, and if people think eye goggles are annoying and get in the way of working and had a choice to wear it, they wouldn't. Look at mask...
Great video! Let me introduce you to a very interesting book on injection molding at this URL: www.amazon.com/dp/B08FWTN6CW It is a practical guide with many examples and illustrations. English and Spanish versions Thank you very much, Josep
