1:45 yep, sure was. The DCS Channel map doesnt extend as far as Copenhagen, so the campaign subbed in Bruges instead.

The end of a Thunder Ducking era. The Viggen needs the road bases as an asset to us. It's a unique capability that should be a focus point, but dcs ai struggles as is with mountains. Sad to see the viggen campaign end. What's next for Platypilot?

Thanks for watching mate. As for whats next, gotta wait and see :P It depends on if i can confidently learn the next module in time for the next upload. Otherwise it might be a single mission playthrough for the Mozzie.

Great video, deserves far more views than what you currently have. I went to record this mission myself a while back, but gave up on it as the illumination bombs get dropped in the wrong place - as with your video.

Thanks for watching. Yeah this campaign might need a bit of love from the devs, there's a few hiccups throughout.

if I may ask, what did you put in for your pop-up point?
@PlatyPilot

Pretty sure I just used what was suggested in the mission briefing: 290100. Now that I have a bit more experience in the Vig, I usually just keep an eye on my distance indicator and pop up around 5-7km. Thanks for watching!

Great mission, solid hits on target, and a successful interception. Dynamic weather is getting worse every mission. Double rainbow is double luck, and it's a welcome.

The interesting thing about this is many of the pilots in this mission were Australians and New Zealanders. The flight commander was an Kiwi.

Woowee, did you need to get close, and in a lot of i can't see anything weather. Man, that could have ended badly. You are one lucky duck. Really cool strike mission and great piloting as always.

This was fun to watch :D And you are the first one I saw, who used the southern route. Northern route also has a little surprise waiting ;) And ooops on that "I'm at your 8 o'clock" by the wingman at the beginning. While watching I taught him how to read the clock and corrected the sound file.

Thanks for stopping by mate! Fantastic job building the mission, I wasn't joking when I said that it was the gold standard of user missions. I'll definitely give that north route a go in the future. Looking forward to more :D

That was a great mission, really awesome valley run and smooth piloting. Props to the Dan for developing that, and the Gazelle is a really nice versatile light airframe, super fun to fly, and a great technical module.

Russian Fudd's out hunting Swedish thunder ducks. Clipped your wing, but surprisingly, ok. Got her back safely. Nice, excited for the next mission. It looks like the danger is ramping up.

Swedish Drift, Fast and Furious here. I'm a big fan of active mission developments, which really puts you in the hot seat. It just emphasises active battlefield developments based on your or the enemies actions, which is always exciting. MOAR!

Great mission, sucks about the wingman, but hey, the Tornadoes nailed their targets this round, which freed up the airspace, so win for team boo Sam's lol. Dicey fuel, almost landed empty. I am looking forward to the next mission.

Awesome series, I just got my hands on DCS and I play only in VR since I have a laptop, it runs awesome and the only plane I'm flying is the Viggen since its the plane from my childhood so these are perfect for a noob like me to get the feel of what it is capable of. Thanks alot, you've earned a new sub!

Thunderducks are go. Those Mi-8s camouflaged into the flora well, hard to spot without contrasting or silhouetting themselves. Not alot of rounds in those gun pods, so a keen eye and precision is a must, but i wouldn't want to slow down for accuracy at the risk of AAA's zeroing me in, or getting lucky, like your wingman.
@PlatyPilot
@PlatyPilot 4 месяца назад
Lol precision. We don't do that here! And yeah the viggen has to keep it's speed up, it becomes very unwieldy under 500kmph. Thanks for stopping by mate!

It's important to be "Punctur-al", I think the enemies air defence and airbase would agree, with all them holes. Another win for Thunderduck.

The whole LMF debate can understand with some in the RAF and how they felt with the subject when you had poles Czech's Danish to name a few occupied nations flyers flying constantly doing more then most would expect in regards to the air campaigns so for someone to constantly find an excuse to avoid there duties would be seen in a negative light with all that had happened sonfsr innthe war .

Your FB.VI, with its single stage Merlins, should top out at 34,000 feet.
@StuartKoehl
@StuartKoehl 6 месяцев назад
Most Mosquito PR variants were derived from the bombers, with the bomb bay being filled with cameras and additional fuel tanks, and the bomb aimer responsible for ensuring the cameras are directed over the target. Most carried several vertical and oblique cameras, and were optimized for high altitude reconnaissance. Thus, there was a PR.IV, a PR.IX, and the most successful, the PR.XVI, with two-stage supercharged Merlins and a pressurized cabin. These could also carry outsize 150-gallon drop tanks, giving them a range of 3000 miles. They were the fastest Mosquitos of the war, the PR.XVI being capable of 416 mph at 25,000 feet, with a service ceiling of 41,000 feet (the post-war PR.34 had a top speed of 435 mph). At that speed and height, they were generally immune from attack, until the advent of the Me.262. In the Pacific, the Australians developed a photo-reconnaissance version of the FB.40. Designated PR.40, it retained the solid nose without machine-guns or cannon with the cameras packed into the bomb bay and rear fuselage. Performance was similar to that of the FB.40.
