Wow ✨🙏✨ the way you teach is very approachable & easy to digest. I gained more insight into how I might improve my playing then many many other videos I’ve previously watched. Thank you so much for this
This is a good exercise. I still can't get the hand pan to stay on my lap. I place it on my lap and it's unbalanced and rolls forward off my lap so I need it on a stand or in my open lap while sitting on the floor which hurts my hips eventually 😮💨
I'm still trying to figure out how to balance the handpan on your lap as I find it very difficult if I set it on my lap it wants to roll forward in an unbalanced manner is there something you're having underneath it while it's on your lap or do you have to be skinny so we can have more of the handpan on your lap how does it work? 🤷♂️
Every body has different proportions and some people do struggle to keep handpans on their lap, in which case, a stand is a great option! I hope that will make your playing more enjoyable!
Hi Jayne! This is best to explore with a teacher in person if you have the chance, otherwise take your time with each of the notes and try gently hitting them with as short contact with the metal as possible. Imagine that they are bouncing off of a trampoline, or that you are touching something hot. The movement comes from your wrist. It might take some time, so do not rush this, start with one hand and one note and then move to another one, step by step...Good luck!
Thanks, I found it very useful too, please continue.I am a beginner and do not have any musical background, only love for music, dance and my fabulous handpan!
