i was a prog rock guy back in high school in the 80's. i knew my Rush tapes wouldn't exactly set the mood in my car when i had a date. Enter Gene Loves Jezebel. they were my oblique guilty pleasure outside of my usual musical tastes. still love 'em to this day.
I love Matte Blvck! Just discovered them, this year! It's ridiculously obvious their reverence for Depeche Mode, but I'm digging it! They've got some fantastic stuff I'm discovering and I'm so psyched to see them on tour this year! Thank you for doing this interview with Bidi. I certainly want to know more. -- And FWIW, one crazy thing I hope they realize; I'm finding it @#$% impossible to get Siri to play them on demand. You know, when I'm driving? i.e. She/it doesn't know how to connect the spoken word "black" to the written word "Blvck." Ah, well...
Nie byłem na imprezie, nie byłem w odwiedzinach... Dziwnie Opalony Pan z długimi włosami w tylnej części głowy przyjechał pojeździć tramwajem po Poznaniu...
Michelle, I heard your Bad Dreams play on the local radio. Instantly fell in love with the synthwave vibe of it. I was curious to hear after binging your albums since then, and I have to say, your voice is angelic, both singing and speaking. I love the dichotymy the most. Thank you for making music and sharing your voice with us.
He isn't actually a like a public figure pop star type of guy. More like a introvert guy, doing music on his own, and we listen. I hope mareux doesn't gets lost in the pop culture.
No lie I found out about this band about a year ago and that all I listen to . I honestly hadn’t enjoyed music for many years up until I heard them . Michell is so beautiful
I am so happy to find this interview being a huge fan of Cannons for few years now.. seriously I listen to their music and/or watch videos almost every day. They deserve much success!
I used to be obsessed with GLJ - thought they were one of the most underrated bands of the '80s. Unfortunately, Michael has turned out to be a big overgrown diaper baby on his Facebook page, posting utter crap about a region of the world he knows nothing about, provoking fights with everyone. And when challenged, even politely, he did the old "reply & block" crap like a tantrumy 13yo. It's been disappointing to find out that the entertainers whose movies and music you've grown up loving, are actually really childish, anti-semitic, and terrified of having their uninformed ideas challenged.
Or like covering Soundgarden. I really enjoyed Cannon's versionn of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark". I enjoyed how they redid an awesome song and added something to it with Michelle's female voice. Get ahold of Sharon Osborne and see if Ozzy will collaborate on a song with you. Seriously. "Through the Glass" by Stone Sour would match with your voice. You were talking about a Prince song? You would sound great redoing "When Doves Cry" by Prince...oh, yes, you guys would do a wonderful version of "Nothing Compares 2U". Chris Cornell did one my favorite versions of that one. Michelle is a brilliant musician and preformer. Her portayal as a drunken bride in one of Cannons videos was poignant. Where she swigged off that bottle of booze and wiped her mouth and then sang. I was like, holy shit this band is really pretty damn good. I mean your video making is first rate, well conceptionalized stuff. You are one of the best new bands I have heard. You all are going places you keep it up. You all are touching hearts. I have read some of the previous comments made by other people. One was very heart touching. I am a big fan already.
She seems to be a woman who doesn't let success go to her head. Neat lass. She's the "cool daughter". She's a cutie and I enjoy the band. I hope for them much of success. ❤ ❤. Both of these ladies did a great interview. I hope for you young people a fulfilling future.
Its a nice interview.Does Jisselle know the band omitted ever mentioning a main artist from the bands early days? Between 1981-85 there was starry Kymille whom Bauhaus liked.Kymille Lavina often performed stage gigs for GLJ+didnt like to be photographed as she had massive fortunes+was prone to being kidnapped. As if that wasn*t enough she was blood of Royal houses on her beautiful mummys side..Kymille Lavina was an Aleister Crowley adept+a former Chelsea school of Art girl who left after her birth of her daughter Emmalene who died.Emmalenes father was Pelle Ohlin from Mayhem.Later Kymille Lavina trained in ballet becoming fast-tracked in Russian world until an injury at an airport.Kymille wote many lyrics, backing vox, metal scream in Screaming for Emmalene+ Geffen bought licencing rights so they could use her scream siren vox on several major Hollywood movies. The band took the money+never thanked or paid her.In 1985 Kymille was involved with Canadianmusician Sebastian Bach of Madam X+Skid Row.Sebastian proposed to her and they married the exact day they met with 5 or 6 police guards as witnesses.Kymille Lavina she can be seen briefly in Gene loves Jezebel original video on you tube Bruises.some say she wanted to remain silent about her hidden world especially with infamous Camorra boss Cosimo whom she adored.
Its so bizarre how a year ago I had no idea who he was then thought on a whim “I wonder who made that one strange girl song on tiktok” then BOOM my favourite artist of all time
