I've seen this group of LA Chimps many times! And they ALWAYS are Fighting Wildly! 🙂 Usually over a lower ranking male begging to Mate! Today they're being very Cool and Laid Back! 🙂 There's no females in Estrus is Why! That Young males Display with Pinecones was Funny!
Idk why… but these monkeys CREEP me out the most now, out of all monkeys and varied tree rats 😅🤣 no but for real, there super CUT bodies and awkwardly “proportional” limbs….. just really makes me rather uneasy
primates are one of my favorite animals in planet zoo theyre really interesting and the exhibits you built for them are very inspiring , now i finally have some ideas for primate exhibits
That is a Nubian Ibex and It had never seen a Gelada baboon before, that's why it's agitated towards them. Unlike Nubian Ibex, Walia Ibexes have a peaceful coexistence with Geladas in the Semien Mountains of Ethiopia.
These are Sumatran Orangutans. There are two full grown females, one little girl (who visits her mom up on the bars and nurses for a moment,) and a dominant male.
The duo that are grooming each other. I know one is a female but the far back one, is that a male or adult female? Can't see much of their lower region to tell from the video.
It's a document by the editors that I can't share directly, but I can provide a link to a lot of good info on this style of writing: guides.lib.vt.edu/oer/authors
The ibex is most likely male. Female ibex have horns too, but they are generally much shorter than the males’. The “miniature gorilla” is a gelada. A large monkey, not an ape. :)
Your question made me curious too. Accredited zoos don't do wild capture as their main way of getting animals. Most are traded from other zoos with successful breeding. The zoo's Wikipedia page mentions that the gelada came from a troop out of a zoo in Stuttgart, Germany.
@@AMR_k400 well the German zoo probably got them from another accredited zoo. Zoos don’t take animals out of the wild anymore , that happened a long time ago.
@@obambagaming1467 realistically, Rajang’s smaller legs would probably shatter on that impact so I’d think they’d jump to the side and jump on the Diablo’s back first
Great question! For the orangutans, adult males and females have very different appearances. Males are bulkier and have the big skin flaps on either side of the face. The siamangs in the exhibit are harder to tell apart. If they're next to each other, the female is slightly smaller than the male.
In this case, there are two fully grown females - one on the ground, one up in the apparatus. There is one young little girl who goes to visit her mom up in the apparatus. Then Satu, who is a dominant male. Fully dominant males develop cheek flanges, long hair, and a large throat sac. Non-dominant males (none here) will be larger than females, but will not have cheek flanges or the other characteristics of a dominant male.
