Haven't seen anyone taking advantage of wasted volume in XJ cargo area walls. Go back to 4:16 in your video, look at all the storage volume wasted behind the OEM wall trim panels. On the left, remove 4 bolts to remove vertical bracket used for anchoring spare tire, which you aren't going to reinstall inside. Install locking metal boxes maybe draping carpet sides for cncealment instead of the OEM panels. Magnets can attach items to inner side of exterior body sheet metal, or with a flange box design...think wall mounted gun safe....the box can be mounted to the metal around the holes. Or angle PVC tube lengths to make utensil storage. I see room to mount an AR15 and Mossberg Shockwave shotgun in scabbards, each side, plus ammo. But, then, I see the XJ roof as being intended to cut a hole in from where to fire one of my Barrett M107A1s or MRADS. But, that's just the imagination in me.....

Nice, clean-looking XJ! The only thing I'd have to disagree on about your build, is the location of the fuel reservoir on the *inside* of the vehicle - especially since it's right next to the diesel heater itself. [Copied and pasted from a 'Google' search ] - - Incidental exposure to unburned Diesel fuel vapors (the odor of liquid Diesel fuel) is virtually harmless. Simply encountering the odor of liquid Diesel fuel does not constitute a risk of toxic effects. Chronic exposure may produce respiratory and central nervous system symptoms, depending on concentration and duration. This is very unlikely unless a subject is in a confined space with a concentrated source of fuel vapor. - - I believe you mentioned "...the dog in the truck", so I'm just curious if long-term (overnight) exposure to raw (unburned) liquid diesel fumes could cause the aforementioned respiratory / nervous system problems? Other than that, I really like the way your truck isn't the all-too-common 'over-modified' aftermarket showcase as most overland vehicles are these days, with lights / winches / body armor bolted /welded on every square inch of the outer body - - and love the super-low profile of your roof-rack / tent setup! Just a tip on the tent, when putting in the tent rods that hold up the window shades on the out side of the tent, put the rods in from the inside of the tent. It helps me out a lot since im pretty short haha.
please, please order a trailer hitch from america and not trust that dinky thing for anything. The best thing about adding it would be a rear recovery point. I'll even send you one.
With some PVC pipe and a suitable tarp, you could make a rain fly that would be lightweight, compact when stored, and would cover the kitchen and a modest dining area.
Hey dude, great to see another video! Quick question on my side, me and my buddies all roll around in XJs but we are quite struggling to find parts for our rigs. Could you or anyone from the comments share some EU stores or websites you can buy parts for our jeeps? For example one of our xjs needs new floor pans and another needs a lift. What place could we source such parts? I can find multiple choices in US but the shipping to here costs as much as the part. Any info is greatly appreciated! Best Regards!
Wow for that thing to be a 4-cylinder diesel it's pretty crowded on that side of the engine mine's by Vista because mine was the first year of the inline 6 floor 4.0 liter so all that there is on that side of the engine for me is spark plugs and distributor cap in the starter
