Welcome to a collection of lost media like you've never seen before. Many of these VHS recordings are the last of their kind. There are videos I produced in the 90's up to modern productions using old equipment. There is a large collection of video production b-roll I inherited from my father. “New” content from the 80’s and 90's is hard to come by, but you've come to the right place. Many videos will have content not seen since the original production run 30-40 years ago. Videos have been cleaned and had their audio enhanced whenever possible.
Enjoy a huge collection of commercials and commercial commentary. The history of advertising is fascinating and man, what a ride. Ads provide a window into the history and psychology of a point in time. They also highlight the many wonderful products and services we love from our Brand Friends. Brands aren't just brands, they're friends.
TL;DR- Lost media, VHS, history, commentary, the ramblings of a madman
I looked it up when I posted it and you can get the calling cards for like 25 bucks delivered from ebay. They made Star Trek posters and stuff too, not sure if I posted that individual commercial yet.
Damn, that was a real sizzle reel at the beginning. Epic movies, the future sure was brighter back then. I was 10 haha but I remember all of this fondly. I miss dinner and a movie, though that might have been TBS, but I always mixed them up as a kid.
Yeah, American TV is basically unwatchable nowadays. Luckily, there are thousands of hours of old TV here and on archive.org. Also, the new Terminator Anime is shockingly decent (made in Japan, obviously).
Hmm, I never really thought about the state he was in. I have another Ernest commercial I believe to be lost. I'll have to note where it's from when I post it. Glad you liked it!
@@junknasium2 same thing they show on the weather and history channel "ice road trucker bigfoot sasquatch life reality" in actuality its just 2 vacuum ads for 3 hours and then a sportsbook report, not a single warp drive in sight
28:46 Made in the USA commercial featuring Sammy Davis, Jr., Sally Struthers, Lynda Carter, Carol Channing, and Bob Hope. As of the time I posted this comment, only Sally Struthers and Lynda Carter are still with us.
Even back in the 80s Dana Plato is great in this commercial. I always believe other 80s female celebrities Geena Davis, Brooke Shields, Kirstie Alley, and Mackenzie Phillips love doing such a commercial like this.
I had the LG Neon back then. It had a decent camera for the time, but that was about it. The phone had a touchscreen, but ONLY to dial the phone number. Also, it was terrible with incoming calls. Once you answered the call, it would be about three-plus seconds before you would be able to hear person on the other end. Those were the days. Thanks for this video.
Those early cell phone cameras were basically toys. I remember I had an LG with a built in bluetooth headset because my job required me to be on the phone 24/7. It was pretty handy. Glad you had fun with the commercial!
Anyone who really followed Batali in his hey days knew about the bloody hand in the sauce. He *_would always_* bring it up in most interviews he did when they would talk about how he got started on TV. So unfortunate he threw away everything he aspired to be and worked so hard for.
Interesting. I hadn't seen his show until I found in on the VHS tape. I couldn't believe I didn't notice it when the other commenter said something. Yeah, it's sad the way things played out..
Do you know what's up with the phone number thing though? I have never seen that before at the time or from going through commercials in the current day.
@@junknasium2 Those numbers were there so that you can contact the cable provider you had to call ask if they can add the Starz channels to the programming you already had. The top number is to call them during the morning and early afternoon while the bottom is to call at them during the end of the afternoon and the beginning of the evening if you are unable to contact them earlier.
@@junknasium2 Neither have I. I was referring to the regular ones that you played games on. My sister had a few from Disney Interactive. One was Atlantis: The Lost Games, The Lion King, and Donald Duck : Goin' Quackers. This upload brought back memories of them. Thanks by the way.
