Great video! I wonder why Raziel and Dumah do not ally against Kain, obviously Raziel wants revenge, however both are supposed to be stronger than him.
15:10 If this is the same Kain we left at the end of Soul Reaver 2 and this game is a direct continuation of that story, shouldn't the game have begun in this room?
You reached that place by Day 12? WTF? That means you skipped the two Nachtholm's Moon Doors! By this time you might already know, but you missed a lot of stuff here in Lost City. Actually all the doors at the end open in sequence. You also missed a couple items outside. I usually does this by night 20. It's unusual to rush the game just for this place. You're supposed to be using your magical items throughout the game, and by the day/night 20 this recharge them all by exploring the Lost City.
To answer your question: i'm still watching kain climb the ladders so i can finish the game for the story, because i agree with you and became utterly bored right before getting to this level on my own playthrough. There isn't enough story in this game to just the long amounts of repetitve gameplay that isn't even as fun as the original blood omen.
Thank you for making this series. I've been looking for this with commentary as I played it years ago when I was a boy but couldn't complete it. I did play the sequel Soul Reaver which I love.
Yeah, first time i played it i didn't hit the Switch with the Mage either. and then he was a Ghost and i couldn't Possess him anymore. Feel's Bad, Man. BUT i did save beforehand so i didn't like, screw my entire file. it's absolutely nuts this game is on GoG FINALLY btw. it loads INSTANTLY now.
14:01 it's not that it's a one time use, remember it's a time streaming device. When you travel back in time before it was built it makes sense that it's not there. (My own opinion at least)

I remember when I was a kid I used to make a game out of killing all the assassins at the start. If I remember correctly you could kill everyone outside but you were boxed in to the town so had nothing to do until you entered and exited a building to respawn them all. I think that's how it worked (it's been decades since i've played) but I do remember just killing all the assassins indefinitely and finding it funny.
I didn’t know you could smack the gongs with the reaver in the version I played which is the console version I always did the aimed TK blast on what ever gong was going off.
You may hate the battles with the vampire golems but you have to admit those 2 golems leaping off their pedestals & landing BAM right behind you was badass.
