April 17, I purchased a READiris pro17/ IRIScan package deal, downloaded and installed the emailed software onto my HP Win 10 computer and it seemed to function properly. May 1 I purchased a new HP WIN 11 computer and tried unsuccessfully to download and install the same software thru the same emailed Hypertext link. What I got was a Trial version of corporate 17 good for 10 days and a recommendation to purchase and install that. What I want is the PRO 17 version I purchased, with any new updates that are available on my new HP WIN11 computer. please send me what I need and make any changes at your end necessary for this to happen.
Purchased Sept 2020 and had constant problems, sorry to say and regret it. Just do not know how to tell my company that I've made the wrong choice. Cannot cope with files of varying sizes, do not like a small black border and the latest issue it will not handle 250 files in one pdf. I have tried to reduce the pages in 2 volumes and now down to 3 volumes, but the software just closes itself without any error or warning messages! Not a good option, support is extremely slow, like sending an email by means of surface mail to a street address!

I purchased Readiris 17 in May 2020. When I add pages in the Pages document section, I can add a watermark to the documents with no problem. However, when I add anything else to the documents like Free Text, the additions don't show in the pages section and are not included in the document when saved. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

@@beverridge Only thing that is good about this one is way it exports to word. It creates clear document rules without needless brakes and text boxes/frames, but problem is you cant control this content. For example you cant preview OCR results within program and fix errors with AI "low confidence" characters, you cant fix table layout structure if program does not recognizes it correctly, you cant fix text orientation, etc. This program could compete for good portion of market share but it needs huge overhaul.
Hi guys. Thanks for the comments. The problem is, as with any product out there, if you don't know the product and all the functions, you will not understand the product, and then normally the fault lies with the product. All the points mentioned above can be corrected in the zone field, where you can completely map out your page. As with any other OCR program out there, the primary function is OCR (optical character recognition) so it will first and foremost try to decode everything into a character. In the zone section you can change all the zones by yourself, which the other products doesn't allow. Then it is further packed with features like TTS, live annotations on your PDF which includes voice notes, compression tool, etc. It is no.1 in the world for a reason :)
@@andriesfrancelle I have tried yours product and it is bad as is - I have read help articles, and I gave my conclusion based on experience. I am professional desktop publisher and I know what I am talking about. No1 in the world is Abbyy FineReader, second would be OmniPage - than, several places below is this. Or I tell you what, because I own quite a few OCR tools, give me one criteria where you think this software is #1 and I will give it an honest test with several different document situations form magazine to legal scan. As I have tried yours product and as I work with PDF documents every day, I am telling you that yours product is far from being usable. I could only see that someone is using this because he does not know for existence of other OCR tools. You can believe whatever you want but reality is quite different. This software needs a lot of work to be made in order to be, not great, but decent. This all applies to normal users. Enterprise users would always go for some API custom application like Tesseract/Calamari/OCRopus and make custom software based on specific patterns they use, that will be by far more efficient than any of these simple user applications and cost would be fraction of any of normal commercial solutions.
@@Miodragy ABBYY have a good OCR but sucks in export options, I want to create a PDF with all the text, format and organization showed in the screen, but the only options is export images + text (with give a huge file size) or only images! I get better results in PDF-XChange, and it is much faster.
