Welcome to our little corner of RU-vid! You'll find lots of cat themed crochet patterns, some Etsy selling tips, as well as exploring my journey as a craftivist! The channel was inspired by my cat Jack, who passed away in 2022, crochet was our favourite hobby so it felt right to start a crochet business in his honour.
Wonderful, interesting video. Lovely to hear about your charity makes. I have made scrunchies and left them in the little free pantry nearby a few times this year. I think they are small things but all these small things can have a positive impact.
I did!! It's made with hand dyed yarn from Mamie and Florrie who I mention in video. The pattern is by Michelle B from MyDailyFiber on Ravelry- Venetian Carnival cowl 😊
Love what you've done so far and want to thank you for the tip about cartoonifying on Canva. I'm going to head there now! From what I know about myself, there's no way I can just look at even a cartoon and just begin to make stitches so I'm going to outline the cartoon into sections which will be equal to a different yarn, if that makes sense. So excited to begin and to continue following you on your journey!
Aw that's great! It was so helpful having the cartoonify image to work off! In the next video (coming soon!) I print out the image at the size I need the final piece to be, it helped ensure I was got the right proportions (because up to that point I was not!!)
Thanks Sam. I have recently been looking for charities to crochet simple items for (especially granny squares). This is a very useful, and timely video for me!
Thank you so much for these videos I've been wanting to crochet freeform pet portrait but didn't know where to start Can't wait to see how you finished it in the next video
When you flatten it, the centre loses its structure a bit, then you can feel the loose strands of the centre pull. It's easier on skeins this size or up to 100g. A bit harder on the bigger skeins. 😊
Good and interesting data. Subbed. Love this cat creation. My first project is a painting my 9 year old granddaughter made me for my birthday. I taught her to make a scrunchie and she is now getting help from her other Grand to make a velvety scarf. She was very excited to hear about Freeform crochet.
Hiya Sam, your work is beautiful. Thank you for this, I am a cat groomer with the most amazing friend who lives and breathes cats. She'd do anything for them and I want to honour her dedication, your piece has truly inspired me but I am MILES away from your talent, I am just teaching myself. Dying to do this.
I used a chatgpt frog pattern and while it doesn't look like a frog, he sure is cute. I wouldn't use the AI patterns for anything useful, but they're a fun afternoon activity if you're in a silly mood.
Asked for a baby strawberry cow plush and chat gtp took me seriously on the cow part because it looks like a cows body (like the animals body) and not like those Pinterest cows.
