For some more fascinating footage of the Woodhead tunnels, see the following BBC documentary from 1969: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M6rDvBjKRgY.html
the foot crossing is in Portland Park, accessed by going Lindleys Lane, park at the bottom car park, if in car, then follow the sign to Wild Rabbit Cafe, then carry straight on.
Well you dont see filming like this nowadays! Some great angles and dramatic shots, also dont see the need to use drain valves that much and these speeds wouldnt be allowed on the GCR today. Great video
Moving well, nice video! I went out to the hill in Sunny Hill Park overlooking the Midland mainline between Hendon and Mill Hill to see this at 7.10 this morning. It left a beautiful plume of steam as it progressed down towards Mill Hill Broadway, but my video was a failure due to inadequate thought and preparation beforehand.
i was there Saturday too, really enjoyed seeing Judy and Alfred, their so tiny ^^ even smaller than Whitehead XD I also had a go on the steam roller too at the west shed ^^
